Ghost is a publishing platform for creating websites, blogs, memberships, subscriptions, and newsletters. Publishers and developers can use it through managed hosting or run it themselves, while contributors work on its monorepo, themes, and API.
Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00044 | $0.00887 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00018 | $0.00355 |

Grade A, and why
build-ghost-app scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 81 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Build a Ghost app
A Ghost app runs as a full page in a frame inside Ghost Admin. Build it in this
folder, the one with AGENTS.md, as a Vite, React and TypeScript app with npm.
These steps make it show up in Admin. For its screens, use the
build-ghost-app-ui skill.
npm create vite won't scaffold into a folder that already has files without
--overwrite, which deletes them. Scaffold into a new subfolder, then move its
files up into this folder and remove the subfolder.
Connect the app
-
SDK.
@tryghost/app-sdkisn't on npm yet. Install it from the folder:npm install ./vendor/tryghost-app-sdk.tgz. It brings its one dependency,@quilted/threads. -
Fixed port. In
vite.config.ts, setserver: { port: 5190, strictPort: true }. The install link depends on the port. -
Manifest. Serve it as
public/ghost-app.json, so it's athttp://localhost:5190/ghost-app.json:{ "id": "org.example.<app-slug>", "name": "<App name>", "description": "<One sentence on what the app does.>", "author": { "name": "<Author>", "url": "https://example.com" }, "accent_color": "#<six-digit hex>", "icon": { "name": "<icon-name>" }, "surfaces": [{ "type": "admin_page", "url": "/" }] }Every field is required,
author.urltoo, and Admin rejects fields it doesn't know.icon.nameis any Lucide icon name in kebab case, such asmegaphoneorlayout-list; Admin draws it onaccent_color. -
Connect before rendering. Admin keeps the frame hidden until the app calls
connect(), and gives up after 10 seconds. Insrc/main.tsx, await it before rendering React:import { connect, GhostAppError } from '@tryghost/app-sdk' try { const ghost = await connect() // apply ghost.theme.mode (step 5), then render the app } catch (error) { if (error instanceof GhostAppError && error.code === 'not_framed') { // Opened outside Admin: render only a short "Open this app in Ghost Admin" message } else { // Render a short "Couldn't connect to Ghost" message with error.message } }
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

build-ghost-app is a skill published in the GitHub repository TryGhost/Ghost (55,632 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 44 tokens to every session and 887 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-30.
