mcp-server-registry

mcp-server-registry is a skill for Claude Code from tuliosousapro/SaaS-blueprint. It costs 37 tokens per session (302 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Guidance for finding and using MCP servers through the official MCP Registry. MCP servers let AI agents connect to outside tools and services.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when discovering integrations, checking whether an MCP server is official or verified, configuring a server, or testing its connection.
Why use it?
Choosing an integration requires checking its source, configuration, required environment variables, supported versions, and connectivity. These instructions provide checks for that process.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00037 $0.00302
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00151
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00060
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00030

Measured 11d ago against content hash 46bf19ab9a06, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

mcp-server-registry scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

MCP Server Registry Skill

When to Use

  • When the user wants to find new MCP servers to extend agent capabilities.
  • When researching available integrations for specific tools (e.g., Slack, GitHub, Postgres).
  • To verify the official status or source of an MCP server.

Official MCP Registry

Instructions

1. Browse Registry

  • Visit the registry to search for servers by category or keyword.
  • Prioritize "Official" or "Verified" servers for production environments.

2. Integration Pattern

When adding a server from the registry:

  • Check the README of the specific server for configuration requirements (API keys, environment variables).
  • Use the mcp_config pattern if using a desktop client (Cursor, Claude Desktop).
  • For agentic usage (like Antigravity), ensure the server is added to the active MCP server list.

3. Verification

  • Ensure the server URL is correct.
  • Validate that the server supports the versions of the tools you are using.
  • Connection test passes after configuration.

Quality Gates

  • Server URL is valid and reachable.
  • Required environment variables are identified and documented in .env.
  • Connection test passes after configuration.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
