Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00039 $0.02003
Opus 5 $0.00019 $0.01001
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00401
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00200

Security

Grade A, and why

edition-writer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Edition Writer

What This Skill Does

Writes a complete, publication-ready newsletter edition — opening hook, main feature, curated links section, and signed-off closing — from a brief and source material provided by the editor.

When To Use This Skill

  • You have the raw material for an edition (notes, article links, a rough angle) and need to turn it into polished prose
  • You are behind schedule and need to draft a full edition quickly without losing voice consistency
  • You want a structural first draft you can edit rather than write from scratch
  • You are testing a new recurring format or section and want a full example to evaluate before committing

What You Need To Provide

Required: The newsletter's name and voice description (tone, register, personality); the main story or topic for the edition with key facts, data, or quotes you want included; any links or brief summaries for a curated section (if applicable) Optional: Ideal word count range; the newsletter's typical structure (e.g. "we always open with a one-paragraph hook, then the main essay, then 4–5 links with commentary"); any recurring elements like a sign-off catchphrase or named section titles; examples of past editions you liked

How the Assistant Approaches This

  1. Reads the brief and identifies the edition's central argument or hook — the single insight or revelation that makes this edition worth opening
  2. Drafts the opening paragraph as a standalone hook: specific enough to be credible, surprising or arresting enough to hold attention, and clearly connected to the main piece
  3. Writes the main feature: structured as a cohesive essay or reported piece, not a list of facts. Integrates provided data, quotes, and angles without padding. Maintains the newsletter's stated voice throughout
  4. Composes the curated links section with original commentary for each link — not just descriptions, but the editor's actual opinion or framing, matching the newsletter's perspective
  5. Writes a closing that feels personal and earned, not formulaic — a brief reflection, a look ahead, or a direct address to the reader that matches the edition's emotional register

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
