a11y-audit-react

a11y-audit-react is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from vanessamarely/ai-playbook-reposito. It costs 48 tokens per session (1,958 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An accessibility review tool checks React components against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, a standard for making websites usable by people with disabilities. It reports violations and suggests code changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to audit one React file, a directory, or a whole project, then get severity ratings, fixes, and commands for checking the changes.
Why use it?
It helps identify barriers such as incorrect HTML semantics or missing accessibility information before users encounter them.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00048 $0.01958
Opus 5 $0.00024 $0.00979
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00392
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00196

Security

Grade A, and why

a11y-audit-react scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skill: Accessibility Audit (React)

Purpose

Identify accessibility violations in React components and provide actionable remediation steps aligned with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

Inputs

  • targetPath: Path to component file(s) or directory to audit.
  • auditScope: single-file, directory, or full-project.

Outputs

  • Summary of violations with severity (critical, serious, moderate, minor).
  • Actionable code fixes with minimal diffs.
  • Verification commands to test changes.

Procedure

Step 1: Validate Scope

  1. Verify targetPath exists.
  2. Determine file(s) to audit based on auditScope.
  3. Filter for .tsx and .jsx files.

Step 2: Run Automated Lint

Execute: .agents/skills/a11y-automation/scripts/run-a11y-lint.sh <targetPath>

Capture output.

If eslint-plugin-jsx-a11y is configured, parse violations.

Step 3: Load WCAG Guidelines

Read: .agents/skills/react-components/references/a11y-wcag22.md

Use as reference for manual inspection.

Step 4: Analyze Each Component

For each component file:

  1. Semantic HTML Check

    • Detect use of <div> or <span> for buttons/links.
    • Flag missing landmarks (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer>).
  2. Keyboard Navigation Check

    • Verify interactive elements have onClick and onKeyDown handlers.
    • Check for keyboard traps in modals or focus-managed sections.
  3. ARIA Usage Check

    • Identify missing aria-label or aria-labelledby on icon buttons.
    • Detect invalid ARIA attribute combinations.
    • Flag redundant ARIA on semantic elements.
  4. Focus Management Check

    • Verify modals trap focus and restore on close.
    • Check that dynamic content updates announce via aria-live if needed.
  5. Contrast and Motion Check

    • Flag hardcoded colors that may violate contrast ratios (suggest calculation).
    • Detect animations without prefers-reduced-motion support.

Step 5: Categorize Violations

Assign severity:

  • Critical: Component is unusable via keyboard or screen reader.
  • Serious: Missing required ARIA or semantic structure.
  • Moderate: Suboptimal patterns that hinder usability.
  • Minor: Best practice improvements.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
