vasu-playwright-utils

vasu-playwright-utils is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from vasu31dev/playwright-ts-lib. It costs 35 tokens per session (3,956 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Playwright helper library for browser tests and browser-based API requests. Playwright is a tool for controlling web browsers and checking how applications behave.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to open pages, find elements, click and fill fields, check visibility or URLs, switch pages, read text, and send API requests in Playwright tests.
Why use it?
It provides reusable functions for common actions, element lookup, page management, assertions, and requests, reducing repeated test code.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00035 $0.03956
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.01978
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00791
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00396

Security

Grade A, and why

vasu-playwright-utils scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

vasu-playwright-utils

A Playwright TypeScript utility library that simplifies browser automation with reusable helper functions for actions, assertions, locators, element queries, page management, and API requests.

Setup Requirement

Before using any utility, you must call setPage(page) with the Playwright Page instance:

import { setPage } from 'vasu-playwright-utils';

// In test setup or beforeEach:
setPage(page);

Import Patterns

Main export (all utilities)

import { click, fill, expectElementToBeVisible, getLocator } from 'vasu-playwright-utils';

Subpath exports (tree-shakable)

import { click, fill, clickAndNavigate } from 'vasu-playwright-utils/action-utils';
import { expectElementToBeVisible, expectPageToHaveURL } from 'vasu-playwright-utils/assert-utils';
import { getLocator, getLocatorByRole, getLocatorByText } from 'vasu-playwright-utils/locator-utils';
import { getText, isElementVisible, waitForElementToBeVisible } from 'vasu-playwright-utils/element-utils';
import { gotoURL, switchPage, getPage, setPage } from 'vasu-playwright-utils/page-utils';
import { getRequest, postRequest } from 'vasu-playwright-utils/api-utils';
import { ClickOptions, FillOptions } from 'vasu-playwright-utils/types';

Core Pattern

Most functions accept string | Locator as their first argument (the input parameter). This means you can pass either a CSS/XPath selector string or a Playwright Locator object.

Action functions enforce visibility by default (onlyVisible: true). Override with { onlyVisible: false }.

Most functions accept an optional options object as the last parameter, extending Playwright's native options with:

  • onlyVisible?: boolean - Filter to visible elements only (default: true for actions)
  • stable?: boolean - Wait for element position to stabilize before acting
  • loadState?: WaitForLoadStateOptions - Wait for load state after navigation actions
  • soft?: boolean - Use soft assertions (won't stop test on failure)

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
