coding

coding is a skill for Claude Code from xobotyi/cc-foundry. It costs 26 tokens per session (4,402 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A language-independent workflow for changing software: inspect the code, plan the change, implement it, and verify the result.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps investigate code, split work into manageable changes, choose commit sizes, and collect completion evidence.
Why use it?
It reduces mistakes caused by assumptions about code, APIs, or whether a change is actually finished.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00026 $0.04402
Opus 5.5 $0.00010 $0.01761
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00880
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00440

Security

Grade B, and why

coding scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Strips warnings and disclaimersmediumAnti-refusal

Omitting safety caveats hides risk from the user and is a common jailbreak preamble.

When **reviewing** code: cite the specific violation with `file:line` and show the fix. Don't lecture.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 334 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Coding

Discover before assuming. Verify before shipping. Every coding failure traces to acting on assumptions instead of evidence, declaring done without verification, or burning context on noise.

Less code, less execution. Of two correct changes, take the one that leaves less code, runs less, and allocates less; a deletion beats an addition. Count concepts a reader holds, never characters. Never add code to run less: a cache, a pool, or a memo waits for a measurement.

Core Loop

Discover → Plan → Implement → Verify

The threshold: if you can describe the diff in one sentence, skip planning. Otherwise, plan first.

The Assumption Interrupt

  • Using a method, type, or interface without having read its definition
  • Recalling an API from memory instead of reading current source
  • Planning changes to code you haven't read in this session
  • Assuming a method signature, type structure, or interface shape

When you catch one, read the source before continuing.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

coding is a skill published in the GitHub repository xobotyi/cc-foundry (22 stars, last pushed 7d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 26 tokens to every session and 4,402 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (strips warnings and disclaimers). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-04.
