second-opinion

second-opinion is a skill for Claude Code from XuanRanL/loamwright-SEO-Skill. It costs 40 tokens per session (345 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A second-review assistant that asks another AI model to independently review, challenge, or advise on a piece of work.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for high-impact decisions, final publication checks, adversarial reviews, or open-ended advice about a strategy or project profile.
Why use it?
It provides a separate perspective when one model may overlook an error or agree too easily with its own earlier answer.

Skill selects an external model or provider that may use a different account or billing plan than the operator expects. Undisclosed model switches can cause unexpected cost or quota consumption.
Fix: Remove the model/provider override or disclose it prominently and require explicit operator approval before invoking an external coding CLI or billed model.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00040 $0.00345
Opus 5 $0.00020 $0.00172
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00069
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00034

Security

Grade A, and why

second-opinion scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Second Opinion

Independent judgment from a different model (Gemini) than the one that produced content (Claude).

3 modes

review

Same as quality-gate but using different model. Pass/fail gate.

python -m scripts._core.llm_judge --prompt-file task.txt --output-file draft.md \
    --criteria "criterion1" "criterion2" --model gemini-2.5-flash --json

challenge

Adversarial: "find what's wrong with this article". Used when an article passed all quality gates but feels suspicious.

consult

Open-ended Q&A: "Is this strategy / decision right?"

When to use

  • Pre-publish (when the operator explicitly raises brief.target_review_score above the default 80 — scripts/_core/review_target.py): supplemental review
  • Repair Round 5 (from-scratch): get challenge view before accepting
  • /init Stage 11 synthesis: consult on whether the project profile is accurate
  • /article when target_surfaces includes AI engines (use the actual engine to judge)

Cost

Cheaper than the main Claude Opus call. Gemini 2.5 Flash = $0.30/$2.50 per M tokens. Typical review = $0.01-0.05.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
