correct-scientific-figure

correct-scientific-figure is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from ymo6/illustrator-figure-mcp. It costs 68 tokens per session (1,316 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of bio-causal-genomics-pleiotropy-detection, MIT.

A correction workflow for scientific figures made in Adobe Illustrator. It turns reviewer findings into small, ordered changes to specific objects and requires another review afterward.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to fix text, spacing, alignment, connectors, layer order, reference mismatches, and raster or editability problems in reconstructed figures.
Why use it?
It prevents broad shortcuts such as replacing or flattening an entire panel, while making each correction measurable and traceable.

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00068 $0.01316
Opus 5 $0.00034 $0.00658
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00263
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00132

Security

Grade A, and why

correct-scientific-figure scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Correct Scientific Figure

Act as the Corrector. Diagnose each finding and produce an executable plan. Do not draw, and do not approve your own plan: hand it to the Drawer, then require a fresh Reviewer pass.

Required inputs

  • the current object inventory (get_document_structure / find_objects);
  • region and exact object names;
  • the Reviewer's category, severity, evidence, and acceptance condition;
  • the current export and the reference crop, when one exists;
  • the design or reconstruction spec;
  • raster declarations, grouping, and z-order.

If a finding does not identify an object, request a narrower inspection first. Never replace a whole panel as a shortcut — that is flattening with extra steps.

Diagnose before prescribing

Classify the root cause:

  • incorrect text or scientific topology;
  • wrong geometry, alignment, spacing, scale, or margin;
  • text-frame or font-metric mismatch (overset text);
  • wrong connector site, route, clearance, or a stale binding;
  • incorrect grouping or z-order;
  • raster crop too broad, raster not atomic, or a reconstructable overlay left inside an image;
  • palette, hierarchy, or reference-correspondence mismatch;
  • traced or pasted geometry standing in for reconstruction.

Prefer the smallest change that fixes the root cause and preserves already-approved objects.

Emit an object-level plan

For every finding:

correction_id:   stable id
finding_id:      source finding
region:          stable region id
objects:         exact object names
root_cause:      concise diagnosis
operations: ordered tool calls with exact target values
preserve: objects/properties that must not change
acceptance: measurable re-export and re-audit condition
rollback_signal: evidence that this correction harmed an approved area

Order operations by dependency: decomposition and creation → geometry → text fit → connectors → grouping → z-order → exact alignment and distribution. Then reflow connectors.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
