detection-scoring

detection-scoring is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from yogsoth-ai/stress-test. It costs 35 tokens per session (287 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A failure-detection rating system that scores how likely existing checks are to catch each problem before it causes harm, from 1 to 10. A score of 10 means the problem is hardest to detect.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps review failure catalogs and cause-and-effect chains, assign detection scores with reasons, and list failures that have no current way to be noticed.
Why use it?
It separates visibility from how severe or likely a failure is, so unnoticed gaps do not get hidden in a general risk rating.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00035 $0.00287
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00143
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00057
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00029

Security

Grade A, and why

detection-scoring scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Detection Scoring

Rates each failure mode's detectability on an inverted 1-10 scale (10 = hardest to detect).

Execution

Subagent — spawned via subagent-spawning/spawn-agent.

Why Subagent

Detection assessment requires reasoning about observability and monitoring independent of severity/occurrence. Isolated context ensures unbiased evaluation.

Input

  • failure_modes: Failure mode catalog
  • chains: Effect chains (to assess where detection could occur)

Output

  • scores: List of (failure_mode_id, detection_score, justification)
  • detection_gaps: Modes with no current detection mechanism

Available SOPs

Optional, no fixed order; the final leaf is always a sop.

SOP When to use
spawn-agent Spawn a customized CC subagent with full MCP tool access. Used by SOPs that declare execution: subagent.
Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

detection-scoring is a skill published in the GitHub repository yogsoth-ai/stress-test (2 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 35 tokens to every session and 287 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
