lobster

lobster is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from yunze7373/openclaw-termux. It costs 0 tokens per session (605 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of lobster, MIT.

A workflow runner for multi-step automations that can pause at checkpoints for human approval. It can connect tool calls into a repeatable pipeline.

In plain words
What is it for?
Email triage, recurring monitoring, synchronising information, and other workflows that combine multiple tool calls or need approval before an action.
Why use it?
It keeps several related actions together and prevents sensitive actions, such as sending, posting, or deleting, from happening without approval.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00605
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00302
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00121
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00060

Security

Grade A, and why

lobster scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 6 executable files (index.ts, src/lobster-tool.test.ts, src/lobster-tool.ts, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Lobster

Lobster executes multi-step workflows with approval checkpoints. Use it when:

  • User wants a repeatable automation (triage, monitor, sync)
  • Actions need human approval before executing (send, post, delete)
  • Multiple tool calls should run as one deterministic operation

When to use Lobster

User intent Use Lobster?
"Triage my email" Yes — multi-step, may send replies
"Send a message" No — single action, use message tool directly
"Check my email every morning and ask before replying" Yes — scheduled workflow with approval
"What's the weather?" No — simple query
"Monitor this PR and notify me of changes" Yes — stateful, recurring

Basic usage

Run a pipeline

{
  "action": "run",
  "pipeline": "gog.gmail.search --query 'newer_than:1d' --max 20 | email.triage"
}

Returns structured result:

{
  "protocolVersion": 1,
  "ok": true,
  "status": "ok",
  "output": [{ "summary": {...}, "items": [...] }],
  "requiresApproval": null
}

Handle approval

If the workflow needs approval:

{
  "status": "needs_approval",
  "output": [],
  "requiresApproval": {
    "prompt": "Send 3 draft replies?",
    "items": [...],
    "resumeToken": "..."
  }
}

Present the prompt to the user. If they approve:

{
  "action": "resume",
  "token": "<resumeToken>",
  "approve": true
}

Example workflows

Email triage

gog.gmail.search --query 'newer_than:1d' --max 20 | email.triage

Fetches recent emails, classifies into buckets (needs_reply, needs_action, fyi).

Email triage with approval gate

gog.gmail.search --query 'newer_than:1d' | email.triage | approve --prompt 'Process these?'

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
