Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00041 | $0.00654 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00016 | $0.00262 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00008 | $0.00131 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00004 | $0.00065 |
Grade A, and why
volume scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 14d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 81 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Prerequisites
- CLI installed and logged in (see setup skill).
- A project and cloud region to create the volume in (see project-region skill).
Commands Reference
Upload Local Files to a Volume
volume upload copies a local file or directory into a managed volume. It
requests temporary credentials itself (the same ones volume apply returns),
so there is no separate credential step.
# Upload one file to the volume root
zilliz volume upload --name <volume-name> --source ./data.parquet
# Upload a directory's contents under data/2026-10/
zilliz volume upload --name <volume-name> --source ./dataset --path data/2026-10/
# Optional:
# --path <dir-in-volume> Target directory inside the volume (default: volume root)
# --policy <policy> overwrite | skip-if-exists | skip-if-same-size | size-and-mtime
# (default: skip-if-same-size)
# --concurrency <n> Concurrent upload requests (default: 5)
# --part-size <MiB> Multipart part size, 5-5120 (default: auto)
# --max-retries <n> Retries per failed storage request (default: 5)
A file is uploaded as <path>/<file name>; a directory's contents are
uploaded under <path>/ keeping their relative layout. Uploads work on AWS,
GCP, Alibaba Cloud, and Tencent Cloud volumes.
Create a Volume
zilliz volume create \
--project-id <project-id> \
--region <cloud-region> \
--name <volume-name>
List Volumes
zilliz volume list --project-id <project-id>
# Pagination: --page-size <n> --page <n>
# Fetch all pages: --all
Delete a Volume
zilliz volume delete --name <volume-name-to-delete>
Describe a Volume
zilliz volume describe --name <volume-name>
Apply temporary upload credentials for a managed volume path
zilliz volume apply --name <volume-name>
# Optional: --path <path>
Guidance
- Before deleting a volume, confirm with the user.
- To put local files into a managed volume, use
volume uploadrather thanvolume apply--applyonly returns temporary credentials for the user's own tooling. External volumes are read-only and reject uploads. - Re-running an upload skips files already present with the same size, so an interrupted upload can simply be re-run. Use
--policy overwriteto force a re-upload. - To load uploaded files into a collection, start an import job that references the volume (see the import skill).
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

volume is a skill published in the GitHub repository zilliztech/zilliz-plugin (3 stars, last pushed 14d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 41 tokens to every session and 654 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-24.
