pdal

pdal is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from znlgis/opengis-skills. It costs 90 tokens per session (4,582 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

An open-source library and command-line toolkit for processing 3D point clouds, such as LiDAR data stored in LAS or LAZ files. It describes processing steps as JSON pipelines and also provides Python and C++ bindings.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to convert formats, change coordinate systems, crop data, remove outliers, classify ground points, and create digital elevation models (DEMs), which are terrain-height grids.
Why use it?
It removes the need to write separate conversion and filtering code for each point-cloud format. It can process large datasets as a sequence of reusable reading, filtering, and writing steps.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00090 $0.04582
Opus 5.5 $0.00036 $0.01833

Security

Grade B, and why

pdal scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

概述

PDAL(Point Data Abstraction Library)是处理点云数据的开源库与命令行工具集,常被称作“点云界的 GDAL”。

安装方法一:apt(Debian/Ubuntu)

sudo apt update
sudo apt install pdal libpdal-dev python3-pdal

安装方法二:conda(推荐,跨平台)

conda install -c conda-forge pdal python-pdal
conda create -n pdal -c conda-forge pdal python-pdal
conda activate pdal

Docker

docker pull pdal/pdal:latest
docker run --rm pdal/pdal pdal --version
docker run --rm -it -v "$PWD":/data -w /data pdal/pdal

pdal --help # 列出全部子命令(info/translate/pipeline/…)
pdal --drivers # 列出可用的 readers/filters/writers

pdal info input.las # 不带参数时默认等价 --stats(读取全部点统计)
pdal info input.las --schema # 维度 schema
pdal info input.las --all # stats + schema + metadata

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

pdal is a skill published in the GitHub repository znlgis/opengis-skills (76 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 90 tokens to every session and 4,582 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (asks for root). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-16.
