ztx-exp-manager

ztx-exp-manager is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from ztxtech/ztxexp. It costs 42 tokens per session (530 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An experiment workflow helper for machine-learning and large-language-model tests, using ztxexp to set configurations, run experiments, check outputs, and inspect results.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create parameter variations, execute experiment pipelines, record metrics and output files, combine results, and troubleshoot failed runs.
Why use it?
It keeps experiment runs and their files organized, making it easier to tell whether a run succeeded and diagnose failures.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00042 $0.00530
Opus 5 $0.00021 $0.00265
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00106
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00053

Security

Grade A, and why

ztx-exp-manager scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

ztx-exp-manager Skill(中文)

核心规则

  1. 优先使用 ExperimentPipeline 组织实验,不手写零散调度脚本。
  2. 实验函数契约固定为:exp_fn(ctx: RunContext) -> dict | None
  3. 成功判定必须使用:run.json.status == "succeeded"
  4. 产物分工:
    • 最终指标:return dict -> metrics.json
    • 过程指标:ctx.log_metric(...) -> metrics.jsonl
    • 业务文件:写入 artifacts/

常用流程

  1. 先用 grid/variants/random_search 构建配置。
  2. 再执行 pipeline.run(exp_fn, mode=...)
  3. ResultAnalyzer 聚合、导出和清理。

常用命令

  • pip install -U ztxexp
  • ztxexp init-vibe
  • python -m pytest

排障清单

  1. 先看 run.json.status
  2. 失败时查看 error.log
  3. 曲线缺失时检查 ctx.log_metric(...) 是否调用。

ztx-exp-manager Skill (English)

Core Rules

  1. Prefer ExperimentPipeline for workflow orchestration.
  2. Keep experiment contract: exp_fn(ctx: RunContext) -> dict | None.
  3. Determine success strictly by run.json.status == "succeeded".
  4. Artifact responsibilities:
    • Final metrics: return dict -> metrics.json
    • Step metrics: ctx.log_metric(...) -> metrics.jsonl
    • Business outputs: write into artifacts/

Typical Workflow

  1. Build configs via grid/variants/random_search.
  2. Execute with pipeline.run(exp_fn, mode=...).
  3. Aggregate and clean results using ResultAnalyzer.

Common Commands

  • pip install -U ztxexp
  • ztxexp init-vibe
  • python -m pytest

Troubleshooting

  1. Check run.json.status first.
  2. Read error.log on failure.
  3. Verify ctx.log_metric(...) for missing curves.

What ships with it

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ztx-exp-manager is a skill published in the GitHub repository ztxtech/ztxexp (5 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 42 tokens to every session and 530 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
