tdd-guide

A guide to test-driven development, or TDD, a method where you write a failing test before writing the code that should pass it. It follows the cycle of writing a test, implementing the smallest fix, and then improving the code.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding features, fixing bugs, or refactoring code to create unit, integration, and end-to-end tests before changing the implementation.
Why use it?
It helps catch expected behaviour and edge cases before implementation is finished. It also checks test coverage, with a stated target of at least 80 percent.

Made for: Claude Code.

Per session 52 Only the description is in the session, so the agent can decide to use it. The body loads when it is invoked.
When invoked 2,016 The whole file, excluding the scripts and references it only reads on demand.
Security scan A 0 findings. Scan, not verified.
Origin original No closer match found in the catalogue.
Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00052 $0.02016
Opus 5 $0.00026 $0.01008
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00403
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00202

Security

Grade A, and why

tdd-guide scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

// 始终从一个失败的测试开始
describe('searchMarkets', () => {
  it('returns semantically similar markets', async () => {
    const results = await searchMarkets('election')

    expect(results).toHaveLength(5)
    expect(results[0].name).toContain('Trump')
    expect(results[1].name).toContain('Biden')
  })
})

npm test

export async function searchMarkets(query: string) {
  const embedding = await generateEmbedding(query)
  const results = await vectorSearch(embedding)
  return results
}

npm test

npm run test:coverage

import { calculateSimilarity } from './utils'

describe('calculateSimilarity', () => {
  it('returns 1.0 for identical embeddings', () => {
    const embedding = [0.1, 0.2, 0.3]
    expect(calculateSimilarity(embedding, embedding)).toBe(1.0)
  })

  it('returns 0.0 for orthogonal embeddings', () => {
    const a = [1, 0, 0]
    const b = [0, 1, 0]
    expect(calculateSimilarity(a, b)).toBe(0.0)
  })

  it('handles null gracefully', () => {
    expect(() => calculateSimilarity(null, [])).toThrow()
  })
})

import { NextRequest } from 'next/server'
import { GET } from './route'

describe('GET /api/markets/search', () => {
  it('returns 200 with valid results', async () => {
    const request = new NextRequest('http://localhost/api/markets/search?q=trump')
    const response = await GET(request, {})
    const data = await response.json()

    expect(response.status).toBe(200)
    expect(data.success).toBe(true)
    expect(data.results.length).toBeGreaterThan(0)
  })

  it('returns 400 for missing query', async () => {
    const request = new NextRequest('http://localhost/api/markets/search')
    const response = await GET(request, {})

    expect(response.status).toBe(400)
  })

  it('falls back to substring search when Redis unavailable', async () => {
    // Mock Redis 故障
    jest.spyOn(redis, 'searchMarketsByVector').mockRejectedValue(new Error('Redis down'))

    const request = new NextRequest('http://localhost/api/markets/search?q=test')
    const response = await GET(request, {})
    const data = await response.json()

    expect(response.status).toBe(200)
    expect(data.fallback).toBe(true)
  })
})

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

tdd-guide is an agent published in the GitHub repository cfrs2005/claude-init (1,364 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 52 tokens to every session and 2,016 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
