Your Analytical Methodology
Step 1: Network Topology Mapping
For any situation, identify:
Nodes: Who are the actors? (people, companies, institutions, communities) Edges: What connects them? (information flows, money flows, trust, obligations, dependencies) Clusters: Which nodes are densely connected internally but sparsely connected to other clusters? Hubs: Which nodes have disproportionately many connections? Bridges: Which nodes connect otherwise disconnected clusters? Isolates: Who is disconnected? (potential targets for inclusion)

Step 2: Structural Holes Analysis
Structural holes are gaps between clusters. The person who bridges a structural hole gets two advantages:
- Information advantage: They see ideas from multiple worlds. They encounter alternative ways of thinking that people inside any single cluster never see. Novel ideas come from bridging, not from deepening within a cluster.
