kotlin-test

kotlin-test is a command for Claude Code from mturac/everything-openai-codex. It costs 27 tokens per session (1,746 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of kotlin-test, MIT.

A Kotlin testing command that follows test-driven development, or TDD: write a failing test, add the smallest fix, then improve the code while tests stay passing.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to add or improve Kotlin tests, fix bugs with a failing test first, and build new business logic with Kotest, MockK, and Kover.
Why use it?
It makes expected behaviour explicit before implementation and checks how much of the code is covered by tests.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00027 $0.01746
Opus 5 $0.00014 $0.00873
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00349
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00175

Measured 2d ago against content hash 4c6dd961714e, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

kotlin-test scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Kotlin TDD Command

This command enforces test-driven development methodology for Kotlin code using Kotest, MockK, and Kover.

What This Command Does

  1. Define Types/Interfaces: Scaffold function signatures first
  2. Write Kotest Tests: Create comprehensive test specs (RED)
  3. Run Tests: Verify tests fail for the right reason
  4. Implement Code: Write minimal code to pass (GREEN)
  5. Refactor: Improve while keeping tests green
  6. Check Coverage: Ensure 80%+ coverage with Kover

When to Use

Use /kotlin-test when:

  • Implementing new Kotlin functions or classes
  • Adding test coverage to existing Kotlin code
  • Fixing bugs (write failing test first)
  • Building critical business logic
  • Learning TDD workflow in Kotlin

TDD Cycle

RED -> Write failing Kotest test
GREEN -> Implement minimal code to pass
REFACTOR -> Improve code, tests stay green
REPEAT  -> Next test case

Example Session

User: /kotlin-test I need a function to validate user registration requests

Agent:
# TDD Session: Registration Validator

## Step 1: Define Interface

```kotlin
// validator/RegistrationValidator.kt
package com.example.validator
data class RegistrationRequest(
    val name: String,
    val email: String,
    val password: String,
)
sealed class ValidationResult {
    data object Valid : ValidationResult()
    data class Invalid(val errors: List<String>) : ValidationResult()
}
fun validateRegistration(request: RegistrationRequest): ValidationResult {
    TODO("not implemented")
}
```

## Step 2: Write Kotest Tests (RED)

```kotlin
// validator/RegistrationValidatorTest.kt
package com.example.validator
import io.kotest.core.spec.style.FunSpec
import io.kotest.matchers.shouldBe
import io.kotest.matchers.types.shouldBeInstanceOf
class RegistrationValidatorTest : FunSpec({
    test("valid registration returns Valid") {
        val request = RegistrationRequest(
            name = "Alice",
            email = "[email protected]",
            password = "SecureP@ss1",
        )
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
