chwrite

chwrite is a command for Claude Code from orrzxz/Houdini21MCP. It costs 0 tokens per session (321 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Houdini command that writes animation channel data to .chan, .bchan, .chn, or .bchn files. Channels contain values over animation frames, while keyframe files can include full node paths.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to export selected channels over a frame range, save keyframe data, or write channel values in a format that chread can import.
Why use it?
It saves selected animation data so it can be reused or read back later. The file extension determines whether the output is text, binary, or keyframe data.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00321
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00161
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00064
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00032

Security

Grade A, and why

chwrite scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

#type: hscript

= chwrite =

"""Writes channel data out to a .chan or .bchan file."""

:usage: chwrite [-f <<fstart>> <<fend>>] <<channel_patterns>> <<chan_or_bchan_filename>> :usage: chwrite <<channel_patterns>> <<chn_or_bchn_filename>>

  • If the filename ends in .chan or .bchan

Writes out the specified channels as columns of raw values with one sample per frame across the given frame range.

If no range is given the current global animation time range will be used. Channels will be output in columns in the order specified.

The output will be saved as ascii data unless the file has a suffix of ".bchan", in which case binary format will be used. The order of channels resulting from a pattern match is not well defined.

  • If the filename ends in .chn or .bchn

Writes out the specified channels along with their full node paths into the specified file as keyframe data. The chread command can be used to read these files.

NOTE: If you want to save the contents of a CHOP as a bclip, use the opsave command.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

chwrite is a command published in the GitHub repository orrzxz/Houdini21MCP (11 stars, last pushed 7mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 321 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
