pn-unreal-python

pn-unreal-python is a cursor rule for Cursor from perniemann/pnCore. It costs 235 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of rules for writing Python scripts that automate Unreal Editor tasks. These scripts run inside the editor or in a headless commandlet for automation and continuous-integration jobs, not during gameplay.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for Unreal asset operations, editor automation, Editor Utility Widgets, build pipelines, and headless scripts.
Why use it?
It avoids unsupported runtime assumptions, unsafe absolute paths, and scripts that have not been checked against the target Unreal Engine version.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00235 $0.00235
Opus 5.5 $0.00094 $0.00094
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00047 $0.00047
Haiku 4.5 $0.00023 $0.00023

Security

Grade A, and why

pn-unreal-python scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Unreal Python rules

Rule co-activation: pn-unreal also fires on these Python file globs and provides broader Unreal conventions. pn-unreal-python takes precedence for Python API specifics when both are active — they are complementary, not conflicting.

  • Enable Python Editor Script Plugin and Editor Scripting Utilities per project (Edit > Plugins > Scripting).
  • Use unreal module for Editor API access. Python runs editor-only; no gameplay at runtime.
  • For headless/CI: use -run=pythonscript -script="path" commandlet; load level first if script needs content.
  • No absolute paths; use project-relative paths or Editor Scripting Utilities for asset operations.
  • Test scripts in Unreal after generating; verify they run in target engine version.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
