scss-modules

scss-modules is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from 12-Studio/Tackl. It costs 87 tokens per session (1,859 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A styling guide for React components that use SCSS CSS Modules and the Tackl design system. SCSS is a stylesheet language with features such as variables and mixins; CSS Modules keep component styles locally scoped.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when creating or changing React component markup, SCSS module files, responsive rules, design tokens, spacing, typography, or themes.
Why use it?
It prevents incompatible styling approaches, such as runtime styling libraries or incorrect Tackl classes, from being introduced.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00087 $0.01859
Opus 5.5 $0.00035 $0.00744
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00372
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00186

Security

Grade A, and why

scss-modules scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 16d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 151 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

SCSS Modules (Tackl)

Tackl styles with SCSS CSS Modules — static CSS, no runtime. There is no styled-components, no Div, no theme getters and no @tackl/type. Never recreate them.

File structure

src/components/Example/
  index.tsx            # logic + markup
  styles.module.scss   # ALL styles
  interface.ts         # prop types
// index.tsx
import { cx } from '@utils/cx';
import type * as I from './interface';
import s from './styles.module.scss';

const Example = ({ isOpen, className }: I.ExampleProps) => (
	<section className={cx(s.jacket, className)} data-state={isOpen ? 'open' : 'closed'} data-pad>
		<h2 className={cx(s.title, 't-headlineL')}>Title</h2>
	</section>
);
// styles.module.scss — no imports: the Tackl layer is injected
.jacket {
	display: grid;
	gap: var(--gap-m);
	background: alpha(--brand-c3, 40);
	transition: background var(--time-m) var(--easing-bezzy);

	@include bp(l) {
		gap: var(--gap-xl);
	}

	&[data-state='open'] {
		background: var(--brand-c1);
	}
}

.title {
	color: var(--global-white);
}

Rules

  1. Outermost class is .jacket; others are descriptive camelCase (s.removeButton).
  2. Write the HTML tag in JSX. State → data-* attributes; dynamic values → CSS custom properties via style={{ '--progress': value }} (typed — CSSProperties accepts --*).
  3. Tokens are CSS variables — always var(--…), never hard-coded values: --brand-c1…c5, --global-white|black, --feedback-*, --space-s|m|l|xl|col, --gap-xxs…uber, --br-xs|s|m|l|round, --easing-bezzy*, --time-s|m|l, --font-heading|body|mono|script|serif, --weight-light…black.
  4. Mobile-first: base styles, then @include bp(m) { … }, bp(l), … (min-width). @include bpd(m) { … } only for the rare max-width case.
  5. Module rules must sit under a local class. Bare top-level tag selectors go in src/css/global.scss.
  6. 'use client' only for hooks/events/browser APIs — never for styling.
  7. Lint with bun run lint (Biome + Stylelint). Stylelint rejects unknown var(--…) names.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
