lounge-tool-best-practice

lounge-tool-best-practice is a skill for Claude Code from Airport-Lounge-List/mcp-server. It costs 27 tokens per session (1,381 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of operating rules for using airport-lounge search tools correctly.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it as a reference when calling lounge lookup tools, copying airport and access identifiers, retrying limited searches, and stopping safely after errors.
Why use it?
It prevents missing required arguments, invented identifiers, repeated searches, and excessive requests that can trigger rate limits.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00027 $0.01381
Opus 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00552
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00276
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00138

Security

Grade A, and why

lounge-tool-best-practice scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Use the lounge tools without errors

Rules that stop the common failures: guessed slugs, missing arguments, repeated searches and rate limits.

Workflow

  1. When you know the airport, call get_airport_lounges with its IATA code. It is the most reliable tool. Use search_lounges only for a lounge name, city or country, with one short term per call.
  2. Pass every required argument: iata for get_airport_lounges, query for search_lounges, slug for get_lounge_details, access_method for find_lounges_by_access.
  3. Copy lounge slugs from a previous result. Never build a slug from a lounge name.
  4. Copy access-method slugs from list_access_methods. Call it once per conversation and reuse the result.
  5. If a search returns zero lounges, change the term once (IATA code instead of city, or the reverse), then stop and tell the user. Do not loop: search_lounges allows 60 calls an hour.
  6. On a rate-limit error, stop calling that tool and use the data you already have.

Tools

get_airport_lounges

Get all airport lounges at a specific airport by IATA code. Returns every lounge at the airport with terminal location, amenities, access methods, and ratings.

search_lounges

Search airport lounges worldwide by name, airport name, IATA code, city, or country. Returns matching lounges with amenities, access methods, and ratings. Use this to find specific lounges or discover lounges in a location.

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
