memoryprofiler

memoryprofiler is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from AlexeyPerov/Unity-Open-MCP. It costs 0 tokens per session (1,443 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Unity Editor skill for taking Memory Profiler snapshots through the unity-open-mcp connection. Unity Memory Profiler is a tool for inspecting how a game uses memory.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to capture Unity memory snapshots for diagnosing memory usage and related issues in a project.
Why use it?
It lets an AI agent capture snapshots from a connected Unity project when investigating memory use. It only works when the Memory Profiler package is installed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.01443
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00722
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00289
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00144

Security

Grade A, and why

memoryprofiler scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Unity Open MCP — Memory Profiler Extension

Skill for AI agents capturing Unity Memory Profiler snapshots (com.unity.memoryprofiler) in a Unity project through the unity-open-mcp MCP server.

This domain is embedded in the bridge, compile-gated on com.unity.memoryprofiler, and auto-activating. Its tool compiles in only when the project has com.unity.memoryprofiler installed (the bridge sets the UNITY_OPEN_MCP_EXT_MEMORYPROFILER define automatically). When the package is present, the memoryprofiler group activates automatically for the session — the tool appears in ListTools with no manual manage_tools call.

Preconditions

  • Unity Editor is open with the target project.
  • unity_open_mcp_ping returns connected: true.
  • The project has com.unity.memoryprofiler installed. If capabilities reports the memoryprofiler group as available: false, install the package (Package Manager → Unity Registry → Memory Profiler) and let the bridge recompile.
  • The memoryprofiler group is auto-activated when the package is present — check unity_open_mcp_manage_tools(action="list_groups"); the group should show activationSource: "auto". If you deactivated it manually, re-activate with manage_tools(action="activate", group="memoryprofiler").

Tool

unity_senses_memory_snapshot_capture — capture a Memory Profiler snapshot to a .snap file. (Sense-prefixed because it pairs with the existing senses profiler family rather than the typed-editor surface.)

Vocabulary

A Memory Profiler snapshot (.snap file) is an offline capture of the entire managed + native heap at a moment in time — far deeper than the live unity_senses_profiler_memory allocator-bytes read. It can be opened in the Memory Profiler window (Window > Analysis > Memory Profiler) for root-cause analysis of leaks, large allocations, and asset footprint.

Version-stability note

The Memory Profiler capture surface moved namespaces across Unity versions:

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

memoryprofiler is a skill published in the GitHub repository AlexeyPerov/Unity-Open-MCP (12 stars, last pushed 7d ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 1,443 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
