What is intlayer-preact?

A setup and usage guide for adding Intlayer translations to Preact applications. Preact is a lightweight JavaScript user-interface library, and internationalization means supporting multiple languages.

Use it to configure translations in a Preact project or build components whose text changes by language.

It shows how to keep translated content next to the components that use it and retrieve that content with the useIntlayer hook.

Intlayer Preact Usage

Core Philosophy

Intlayer promotes Component-Level Content Declaration. Instead of a massive global translation file, content is declared in *.content.ts files adjacent to the Preact components that use them.

Workflow

To create a translated component, you need two files:

Declaration: A content file (e.g., myComponent.content.ts) defining the dictionary.
Implementation: A Preact component (e.g., MyComponent.tsx) using the useIntlayer hook.
