What is intlayer-solid?

An internationalisation guide for SolidJS, a JavaScript user-interface framework. It shows how to keep translated text beside the components that use it and read that text with the useIntlayer hook.

Use it when configuring translations in a SolidJS application, creating translated components, or setting up Intlayer content files and providers.

It avoids maintaining one large translation file and helps each component declare the text it needs in multiple languages.

Intlayer Solid Usage

Core Philosophy

Intlayer promotes Component-Level Content Declaration. Instead of a massive global translation file, content is declared in *.content.ts files adjacent to the Solid components that use them.

Workflow

To create a translated component, you need two files:

Declaration: A content file (e.g., myComponent.content.ts) defining the dictionary.
Implementation: A Solid component (e.g., MyComponent.tsx) using the useIntlayer hook.

Create a content file using t() for translations. File: src/components/MyComponent/myComponent.content.ts
