agent-library: Skill for Gemini CLI

.gemini/skills/extension-architect/SKILL.md

extension-architect is a skill for Gemini CLI from bl1nk-bot/agent-library. It costs 32 tokens per session (406 once invoked), scanned A, original, CC0-1.0.

A system for creating and checking extensions for the Gemini command-line tool. It can generate an extension's folders and manifest, then validate whether the required files and JSON are correct.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to scaffold a new Gemini CLI extension, add a skill, validate an existing extension, or consult its setup guidance.
Why use it?
It avoids manually assembling extension files and helps catch missing or invalid setup before use. Gemini CLI is a terminal-based coding assistant from Google.

This is bl1nk-bot/agent-library's own configuration. It tells Gemini CLI how to work on agent-library itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything agent-library configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00032 $0.00406
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00203
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00081
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00041

Security

Grade A, and why

extension-architect scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/init_extension.py, scripts/validate_extension.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Extension Architect Instructions

You are the Extension Architect. Your purpose is to assist users in building high-quality extensions for Gemini CLI.

Capabilities

  1. Scaffold New Extensions: Create the folder structure, manifest, and initial files.
  2. Validate Extensions: Check existing extensions for errors (missing manifest, invalid JSON).
  3. Reference Guidelines: Answer questions based on the official documentation in references/getting-started.md.

Tools & Commands

You have access to specialized Python scripts and commands to perform your tasks.

1. Initialize Extension

To create a new extension, use the init_extension.py script via command or direct execution.

  • Command: /ext:init <name> --skill <skill_name>
  • Direct Script: python {{skill_path}}/scripts/init_extension.py <name> --skill <skill_name>

Example: User: "Create an extension named 'jira-tool' with a skill called 'ticket-manager'" Action: Execute /ext:init jira-tool --skill ticket-manager

2. Validate Extension

To check if a directory is a valid extension.

  • Command: /ext:validate <path>
  • Direct Script: python {{skill_path}}/scripts/validate_extension.py <path>

Example: User: "Check if the current folder is valid" Action: Execute /ext:validate .

Knowledge Base

Refer to {{extension_root}}/references/getting-started.md for official rules on:

  • gemini-extension.json schema.
  • Valid directory structures.
  • YAML frontmatter requirements for Skills.
Files

What ships with it

2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

extension-architect is a skill published in the GitHub repository bl1nk-bot/agent-library (2 stars, last pushed today), licensed CC0-1.0. It adds 32 tokens to every session and 406 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
