Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00076 | $0.02620 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00030 | $0.01048 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00015 | $0.00524 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00008 | $0.00262 |
Grade A, and why
create-app scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 17d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 58 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Create an App from the User's Request
You write the app's files, Control Plane builds them into an image, and mcp__cpln__deploy_app runs the image as a workload and waits for it. The first decision is where the files live.
Local or stored
| Your environment | Files live | Build |
|---|---|---|
You can write files and run commands, and the cpln CLI is installed and logged in |
Local: a folder ./NAME on the user's machine, theirs to keep and version |
cpln image build --remote --dir ./NAME --name NAME:v1 --org ORG, then deploy_app with image: //image/NAME:v1 |
| No filesystem or commands (ChatGPT, Claude web and desktop), or no working CLI | Stored: on Control Plane through mcp__cpln__write_app_files, kept across sessions |
deploy_app with the same name builds the stored files |
With a filesystem and a working CLI, local is the default; stored is fine when the user asks for it. The CLI only builds: ORG is the org the tools use, and the deploy, every read, and every secret go through the tools. Never hand a CLI command to a user without a filesystem. Say which way you are taking.
Other starting points: an existing image or a git repository goes straight to deploy_app (image or repoUrl); a folder the user already has is built with the CLI. A database or Redis the app needs comes from mcp__cpln__add_database, whose result lists the env values to pass to deploy_app; other infrastructure comes from the Template Catalog (template-catalog skill). An app the user asks for, for example a blog, a wiki, or a shop, is one you write; install a template instead only when they name one. Never build a database from source or inline an app into a base image.
Decide before you build
A stateless app, one that keeps nothing (for example a game, a calculator, or a landing page), has nothing to decide: build it on the deploy_app defaults with no storage, and say so. An app that keeps anything (content, records, files, or sign-ins; for example a portfolio, a blog, a wiki, a shop, or a ledger) gets what a production app of its kind has, even where the user did not spell it out: content the owner adds or changes after launch (menu items, products, posts, and their photos) is managed from the app itself and kept on its file storage, never built into the image, and the owner adds what they already have from the app once it runs.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

create-app is a skill published in the GitHub repository controlplane-com/ai-plugin (11 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 76 tokens to every session and 2,620 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-23.
