quality-checklist

quality-checklist is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Dragoon0x/taste-skills. It costs 43 tokens per session (440 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A structured review tool for judging whether a visual design is ready to ship. It checks hierarchy, typography, color, spacing, consistency, alignment, and states such as loading, empty, and error screens.

In plain words
What is it for?
Evaluating screens and other designs, checking accessibility-related contrast, setting design-quality standards, and finding issues before release.
Why use it?
It replaces an informal visual review with a repeatable checklist and makes overlooked design problems easier to identify.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00043 $0.00440
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.00220
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00088
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00044

Security

Grade A, and why

quality-checklist scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Quality Checklist

A systematic pass through every dimension of design quality.

How to use

  • /quality-checklist Run a quality evaluation on any design in this conversation.

Constraints

Hierarchy

  • Clear primary element on every screen
  • Visual weight matches content priority
  • No unintentional competing elements at the same hierarchy level
  • Eye path follows the intended reading order

Typography

  • Type scale uses a consistent ratio
  • Weight usage is systematic with named purposes
  • Line height varies appropriately (tighter headlines, looser body)
  • No more than 4-6 sizes per screen with clear justification
  • Typeface matches product voice

Color

  • Every color has a clear, non-overlapping role
  • Semantic colors are consistent everywhere
  • Neutrals do 80-90% of the heavy lifting
  • Sufficient contrast for accessibility (WCAG AA minimum)

Space

  • Spacing follows a consistent scale
  • Proximity signals correct relationships
  • Density matches the use case
  • Margins create appropriate breathing room

Craft

  • Border radii consistent across element types
  • Alignment pixel-perfect where intended
  • All states covered: loading, empty, error, success, overflow
  • Transitions purposeful and consistently timed

System

  • Design could scale to 10 more screens without breaking
  • Another designer could extend this without asking questions
  • Components are reusable, not one-offs
  • System breaks are intentional, not accidental

Anti-Patterns

  • Checking only visual polish and ignoring information architecture
  • Treating the checklist as pass/fail instead of diagnostic
  • Running the checklist once and never revisiting
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

quality-checklist is a skill published in the GitHub repository Dragoon0x/taste-skills (4 stars, last pushed 6mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 43 tokens to every session and 440 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
