notion

notion is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from elizaOS/eliza. It costs 69 tokens per session (1,615 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A connection to Notion, a workspace for notes, documents, and databases. It can work with pages, database-like data sources, blocks, and searches through the Notion API.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create, search, read, and update pages; query data sources; change page properties; and add or manage content blocks.
Why use it?
It lets an agent find and update shared Notion content without manually navigating the workspace.

About the project

elizaOS is an open-source TypeScript framework and product stack for building and running autonomous AI agents. Developers use its runtime, application, command-line tool, cloud services, native bridges, and plugins to create agent-based software. The catalogue entries provide skills, commands, instructions, and rules for working with this monorepo and its agent ecosystem.

    Skill establishes unauthorized persistence across sessions via cron jobs, startup scripts, or state files. Session persistence allows an attacker to maintain access beyond the current interaction.
    Fix: Remove any persistence mechanisms (cron jobs, startup scripts, state files). Skills should not maintain state across sessions without explicit user consent.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00069 $0.01615
Opus 5 $0.00034 $0.00807
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00323
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00161

Measured 13d ago against content hash a9a2a173f6aa, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

notion scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 13d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

notion

Use the Notion API to create/read/update pages, data sources (databases), and blocks.

Setup

  1. Create an integration at https://notion.so/my-integrations
  2. Copy the API key (starts with ntn_ or secret_)
  3. Store it:
mkdir -p ~/.config/notion
echo "ntn_your_key_here" > ~/.config/notion/api_key
  1. Share target pages/databases with your integration (click "..." → "Connect to" → your integration name)

API Basics

All requests need:

NOTION_KEY=$(cat ~/.config/notion/api_key)
curl -X GET "https://api.notion.com/v1/..." \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json"

Note: The Notion-Version header is required. This skill uses 2025-09-03 (latest). In this version, databases are called "data sources" in the API.

Common Operations

Search for pages and data sources:

curl -X POST "https://api.notion.com/v1/search" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"query": "page title"}'

Get page:

curl "https://api.notion.com/v1/pages/{page_id}" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03"

Get page content (blocks):

curl "https://api.notion.com/v1/blocks/{page_id}/children" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03"

Create page in a data source:

curl -X POST "https://api.notion.com/v1/pages" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "parent": {"database_id": "xxx"},
    "properties": {
      "Name": {"title": [{"text": {"content": "New Item"}}]},
      "Status": {"select": {"name": "Todo"}}
    }
  }'

Query a data source (database):

curl -X POST "https://api.notion.com/v1/data_sources/{data_source_id}/query" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "filter": {"property": "Status", "select": {"equals": "Active"}},
    "sorts": [{"property": "Date", "direction": "descending"}]
  }'

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

notion is a skill published in the GitHub repository elizaOS/eliza (19,326 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 69 tokens to every session and 1,615 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
