agentic-reviewer: Skill for Claude Code

.cursor/skills/explore-style-guide/SKILL.md

explore-style-guide is a skill for Claude Code, Cursor from FilippoScaramuzza/agentic-reviewer. It costs 34 tokens per session (373 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for extracting a journal's submission and formatting rules from its official author guidelines. It records requirements for structure, length, references, figures, authors, and supplementary files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to document an article's required sections, word limits, citation style, figure formats, author details, and supplementary-material rules.
Why use it?
It prevents important journal-specific requirements from being missed before reviewing or preparing a paper.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00034 $0.00373
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00187
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00075
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00037

Measured 9d ago against content hash 182f634131d2, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

explore-style-guide scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Explore Style Guide

Extract and document all formatting and style requirements from a journal's author guidelines.

Search Strategy

  1. Search for "<journal name> author guidelines"
  2. Search for "<journal name> submission instructions"
  3. Search for "<journal name> manuscript formatting"
  4. Fetch the official author guidelines page

Information to Extract

Document Structure

  • Required sections (IMRAD or custom), abstract requirements (word limit, structured vs. unstructured), keywords requirements

Word & Page Limits

  • Total word count limit, abstract word limit, per-section limits, reference list limits

Reference Style

  • Citation format (APA, Vancouver, Harvard, IEEE, etc.), in-text citation style, DOI requirements, maximum reference count

Figure & Table Requirements

  • Accepted formats (TIFF, EPS, PNG, etc.), minimum resolution (DPI), caption formatting, color vs. grayscale, maximum count

Title & Author Formatting

  • Title length limits, author name and affiliation formatting, corresponding author designation, ORCID requirements

Supplementary Material

  • Allowed formats, file size limits, submission process

General Formatting

  • Font, line spacing, margin, page numbering, line numbering requirements

Quality Checks

  • Verify all requirements come from the official journal website
  • Note version/date of the guidelines if available
  • Flag any ambiguous or contradictory requirements
  • Note what couldn't be found

Output Location

Save to context/<journal-slug>/style-guide.md (cache) AND <report-directory>/03-style-guide.md (session artifact)

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

explore-style-guide is a skill published in the GitHub repository FilippoScaramuzza/agentic-reviewer (2 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 34 tokens to every session and 373 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
