Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00007 | $0.01431 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00003 | $0.00715 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00001 | $0.00286 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00001 | $0.00143 |
Grade A, and why
wargame-map scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 177 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
/wargame-map - Generate Wargame-Style Maps
Generate historically accurate, playable wargame-style hex maps for any geographic area at any scale. Produces static PNG/PDF, interactive HTML, and game data JSON.
Usage
/wargame-map <area or scenario description> [options]
/wargame-map --spec <yaml_file>
Examples
/wargame-map Normandy 1944 --hex-size 5/wargame-map Eastern Front 1941 --hex-size 50 --style simonsen/wargame-map Stalingrad tactical --hex-size 1 --style kibler/wargame-map Persian Gulf --hex-size 25/wargame-map --spec configs/examples/normandy_hex.yaml
Prerequisites
This skill requires the wargame-cartographer Python package. On first use, clone and install:
git clone https://github.com/fredzannarbor/wargame-cartographer.git ~/wargame-cartographer
cd ~/wargame-cartographer
uv sync
Implementation
When invoked, follow these steps:
1. Locate Installation
Find the wargame-cartographer installation:
# Check common locations
ls ~/wargame-cartographer/pyproject.toml 2>/dev/null || \
ls ./pyproject.toml 2>/dev/null
If not found, tell the user to install it first.
2. Ensure Dependencies
cd ~/wargame-cartographer
uv sync
3. Parse Input
If --spec is provided, use that YAML file directly:
cd ~/wargame-cartographer
uv run wargame-map generate <spec_file>
If natural language, construct a MapSpec YAML:
-
Geocode the area: Use the description to determine a bounding box. For well-known scenarios:
- "Normandy 1944" → bbox: -1.80,48.80,0.50,49.80
- "Eastern Front" → bbox: 20.0,45.0,42.0,60.0
- "Stalingrad" → bbox: 43.8,48.4,44.8,49.0
- "North Africa" → bbox: -5.0,28.0,25.0,38.0
- "Pacific Theater" → bbox: 90.0,-10.0,180.0,50.0
- "Gettysburg" → bbox: -77.30,39.78,-77.20,39.86
- "Bulge" → bbox: 5.5,49.5,6.8,50.5
- For other areas, use OSM Nominatim or estimate from geography knowledge
-
Infer scale from keywords:
- "tactical" or hex-size < 5 → 1-5 km hexes
- "operational" or default → 5-25 km hexes
- "strategic" or hex-size > 25 → 25-100 km hexes
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

wargame-map is a skill published in the GitHub repository fredzannarbor/wargame-cartographer (2 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 7 tokens to every session and 1,431 once invoked, about $0.0000 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
