fbdl-mcp: Skill for Codex

.codex/skills/use-fbdl-mcp/SKILL.md

use-fbdl-mcp is a skill for Codex from GangGreenTemperTatum/fbdl-mcp. It costs 33 tokens per session (441 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A usage guide for the FBDL MCP server, including which tools to select, how to submit work, and how to manage runs through its live API. The input does not explain what FBDL or MCP means.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when you need instructions for selecting FBDL MCP tools, submitting requests, or managing live runs.
Why use it?
It can guide the server workflow, but the available description does not provide enough context to state what FBDL is used for.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00033 $0.00441
Opus 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00176
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00088
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00044

Measured 2mo ago against content hash 55dbb77e7b04, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

use-fbdl-mcp scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Using the FBDL MCP server

This skill is the operations manual for fbdl-mcp.

When to use it

Use it whenever the user wants to:

  • write or fix an FBDL script
  • submit a script as a real FBDL run
  • inspect or archive previous runs
  • understand why create_fbdl_run was rejected

Tools

Read-only:

  • list_entities
  • list_actions
  • validate_fbdl
  • explain_fbdl
  • resource fbdl://reference

API-backed:

  • create_fbdl_run({fbdl_code, note})
  • list_fbdl_runs({?limit, ?after})
  • get_fbdl_run({id})
  • archive_fbdl_run({id})

Standard workflow

  1. Understand the scenario.
  2. Use list_entities / list_actions if names or params are unclear.
  3. Write the script with block grammar.
  4. Call validate_fbdl before presenting or submitting it.
  5. Only when the user explicitly wants a real run, call create_fbdl_run.
  6. Poll with get_fbdl_run if results are needed.
  7. Archive old runs when the user is done with them.

Run-submission rules

create_fbdl_run is rate-limited by the server itself:

  1. Only one create_fbdl_run can be in flight at a time.
  2. After success there is a 30 second cooldown.
  3. After failure there is a 60 second cooldown.
  4. Validation failures do not trigger cooldown because they never hit the API.
  5. If the account is at the max active-runs limit, the server may return a hint telling the caller to list and archive old runs first.

Do not silently retry or parallelize submissions.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
