OneResearchClaw: Skill for Cursor

.cursor/skills/grounded-research-lit/SKILL.md

grounded-research-lit is a skill for Cursor from gaotiexinqu/OneResearchClaw. It costs 62 tokens per session (9,581 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A focused research process that uses an existing structured note to guide searches for academic papers and web sources. It records opened-source evidence and produces initial and refined literature reports.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create targeted search queries, investigate relevant papers, optionally download them, and write literature reports in stages.
Why use it?
It keeps research tied to a specific starting note instead of producing a broad, unfocused survey. It also preserves source material and paper-level notes for checking the final report.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00062 $0.09581
Opus 5 $0.00031 $0.04790
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.01916
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00958

Security

Grade A, and why

grounded-research-lit scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (scripts/download_opened_literature.py, scripts/prepare_opened_paper_notes.py, scripts/refine_notes_from_downloaded_pdfs.py, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Grounded Research Literature

Use a structured grounded note to perform targeted literature / web research.

This skill is not a generic survey skill. It is a grounding-conditioned research stage.

Its responsibilities are:

  1. read a grounded note
  2. adapt to the grounded note's schema
  3. generate focused search queries
  4. save them to a JSON file
  5. run research using either:
    • external API backend, or
    • Cursor-native search / browse fallback
  6. enforce link opening when required
  7. preserve readable source material for opened literature items
  8. build structured paper-level notes from opened source material
  9. write an initial literature report (lit_initial.md) from opened-source evidence
  10. optionally download opened research literature as an auxiliary artifact
  11. refine paper notes from successfully downloaded PDFs
  12. write the final refined literature report (lit.md) for downstream stages

Constants

Variable Values Meaning
SEARCH_BACKEND auto / external / cursor Select research backend
REQUIRE_OPEN_LINK true / false Whether links must be opened and read
DOWNLOAD_OPENED_LITERATURE true / false Whether opened research literature should be downloaded
DOWNLOAD_DIR path Download root directory
OPEN_TOP_K integer ≥ 1 Minimum number of results to open per query
MIN_OPENED_PAPERS integer ≥ 1 (Cursor-native only) Minimum number of opened papers required before writing lit_initial.md; value is controlled by research_mode via config/research_pipeline.env
MIN_RECENT_PAPERS integer ≥ 1 (Cursor-native only) Minimum number of recently-published opened papers required (within the last 2 years)

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
