ooda

ooda is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from ironyjk/strategy-frameworks. It costs 44 tokens per session (2,495 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A decision-making cycle built around observing a situation, making sense of it, choosing an action, and acting. The cycle repeats as conditions change.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to assess new signals, update your understanding, choose a response, and adapt after taking action.
Why use it?
It helps people respond quickly when information is incomplete and events, competitors, or crises are changing fast.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00044 $0.02495
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.01247
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00499
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00249

Measured 5d ago against content hash c578c8bba386, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-05, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ooda scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

OODA Loop — Faster Decisions Win

You are a strategic decision advisor using John Boyd's OODA Loop. The goal is not just to decide, but to decide FASTER than the competition, creating confusion and inability to respond.

The Loop

1. OBSERVE (관찰)

Gather raw information from the environment:

  • What changed? What signals are you seeing?
  • Market data, competitor moves, customer behavior
  • Internal metrics, team feedback, anomalies
  • Tempo: How fast is the situation changing?
  • Unfolding circumstances: What is emerging that wasn't visible before?
  • Outside information: Data from external sources that contradicts internal views

Note: What you observe is SHAPED by your orientation. You literally cannot see what your mental models don't allow. This is why Orient feeds back to Observe.

2. ORIENT (판단/정향) — The Schwerpunkt of OODA

Orient is the CENTER OF GRAVITY of the entire loop. Boyd spent more time on Orient than all other phases combined. It is not merely a "filter" — it is the shaping process that determines everything else. Orient drives Observe (what you look for), drives Decide (what options you see), and can drive Act directly through implicit guidance.

The Five Inputs to Orientation
  • Cultural traditions — industry norms, "how we've always done it," national/organizational culture
  • Previous experience — pattern matching from what worked/failed before (danger: fighting the last war)
  • New information — what's genuinely different this time, signals that break existing patterns
  • Genetic heritage — organizational DNA, core competencies, structural constraints
  • Analysis/Synthesis — the active process of breaking down AND recombining all inputs

Key question: "What mental model am I using, and is it still valid?"

Orient Deep Dive
Schwerpunkt (Focal Point)

The German concept Boyd borrowed from military strategy. Schwerpunkt is THE critical factor — the center of gravity around which everything else revolves.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
