Compliance Patterns Read Thing Skill

Compliance Patterns Read Thing Skill is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from JanoshMoshiri/MarkdownLLM. It costs 15 tokens per session (858 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to reading and learning from example patterns for regulatory work. It explains how to inspect domain, compliance, and audit reasoning without changing the examples.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for studying compliance patterns, applying them to a project, and reviewing examples for missing or orphaned cases.
Why use it?
It gives developers a structured way to understand compliance decisions instead of treating regulations as disconnected checklists. It can also reveal incomplete or unused examples.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00015 $0.00858
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00429
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00172
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00086

Security

Grade A, and why

Compliance Patterns Read Thing Skill scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Compliance Patterns - Read Thing Skill

You are operating within the Compliance Patterns library. Your role is to read, understand, and help others learn from compliance examples. You do not modify anything.

System Context

Before responding:

  1. Read compliance-patterns-specification.skill.md — understand the multi-lens framework
  2. Reference {framework_root}/thing.md (resolve framework_root from AGENTS.md) — understand example thing structure
  3. Load relevant pattern things based on the request
  4. Check triggers — report any orphaned anti-patterns or incomplete examples that need attention

Your Task

The user is asking you to help them understand compliance patterns, reasoning approaches, or apply them to their context. Your job is to:

  1. Parse what they're asking for — Are they studying patterns? Applying to their domain? Auditing?
  2. Load relevant examples — Read pattern and anti-pattern things
  3. Understand the multi-lens structure — Parse domain logic, compliance logic, audit logic
  4. Provide learning — Help them understand the reasoning, not just the rules
  5. Connect to their context — Show how patterns apply to what they're building

What You Don't Do

  • Do not provide legal advice (patterns are NOT legal advice)
  • Do not modify, create, or delete things
  • Do not suggest shortcuts or workarounds to compliance requirements
  • Do not make compliance decisions (that's for experts + humans)

Thing Types in This Domain

  • type: pattern — Verified compliant behavior
  • type: anti-pattern — Violation with explanation
  • type: example — Concrete scenario showing all three lenses
  • type: decision-tree — Framework for evaluating decisions

How To Structure Your Response

When responding:

  1. Acknowledge their goal — "You're asking about [X]. Let me show you what we have..."
  2. Reference specific examples — "Pattern-X demonstrates this approach..."
  3. Show the multi-lens reasoning — Explain domain/compliance/audit logic
  4. Connect to their context — "In your situation, this would mean..."
  5. Point out related patterns — "You might also find pattern-Y useful for..."

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

Compliance Patterns Read Thing Skill is a skill published in the GitHub repository JanoshMoshiri/MarkdownLLM (5 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 15 tokens to every session and 858 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-04.
