documentdb-mcp-development

documentdb-mcp-development is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Knuckles-Team/documentdb-mcp. It costs 45 tokens per session (1,479 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Development guidance for a connector that exposes MongoDB DocumentDB operations through an MCP server, including document storage tools and a knowledge graph.

In plain words
What is it for?
It supports implementing, testing, gating, and releasing changes to the connector's API, document operations, analytics calls, MCP tools, and health route.
Why use it?
It helps changes preserve the connector's client boundary, authentication configuration, tool routing, packaged resources, and release contracts.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00045 $0.01479
Opus 5.5 $0.00018 $0.00592
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00296
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00148

Security

Grade A, and why

documentdb-mcp-development scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

DocumentDB MCP Development

Use this skill for changes inside documentdb-mcp. The rapid-delivery row is the central PIPE-CONNSPEC-R116.4 criterion; read it with AGENTS.md and the focused tests before changing a connector surface. This repository owns the DocumentDB calls, mappings, MCP tools, and packaged connector content. Shared transport, identity, ingestion, and publication contracts stay with their owning packages.

Repository and runtime map

  • documentdb_mcp/__init__.py is the SDK Connector entry point. It composes DocumentDBApi, get_client, and the legacy health-route registration.
  • documentdb_mcp/api_client.py is the public DocumentDBApi facade. The domain mixins under documentdb_mcp/api/ own system, collection, user, document CRUD, and analytics calls; keep one facade and reuse those methods.
  • documentdb_mcp/auth.py reads MONGODB_URI, or the MONGODB_HOST and MONGODB_PORT fallback, and creates the SDK-backed Mongo client with the bounded server-selection timeout. Keep credentials and endpoints in injected configuration.
  • documentdb_mcp/mcp_server.py preserves the legacy CLI and /health route while documentdb_mcp/tools/ registers the action-routed system, collections, users, CRUD, analysis, and knowledge-graph tools. The public tool names are documentdb_system, documentdb_collections, documentdb_users, documentdb_crud, documentdb_analysis, documentdb_ingest_catalog, and documentdb_ingest_documents.
  • documentdb_mcp/kg_ingest.py maps catalog and document samples into typed SDK ingestion records. documentdb_mcp/connector_sources.py owns the live connector://resources declaration, while documentdb_mcp/ontology/ owns the packaged DocumentDB vocabulary and mappings.
  • documentdb_mcp/skills/**, prompts/**, ontology/**, connectors/**, agent_data/**, and mcp_config.json are package resources. Preserve the existing skills/** package-data rule so wheels and sdists carry the same content.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

documentdb-mcp-development is a skill published in the GitHub repository Knuckles-Team/documentdb-mcp (2 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 45 tokens to every session and 1,479 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-28.
