nextcloud-agent-development

nextcloud-agent-development is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Knuckles-Team/nextcloud-agent. It costs 47 tokens per session (1,377 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A development guide for maintaining a Nextcloud connector package. It explains how the package connects Nextcloud services to an agent through MCP, a standard way for tools to communicate with AI agents.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing Nextcloud API calls, file, calendar, contact, user, or sharing tools, authentication, tests, or connector documentation.
Why use it?
It helps prevent changes from breaking authentication, secure connections, tool wiring, packaged files, or the connector's SDK integration.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00047 $0.01377
Opus 5.5 $0.00019 $0.00551
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00275
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00138

Security

Grade A, and why

nextcloud-agent-development scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 124 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Nextcloud Agent Development

Use this skill for changes to the nextcloud-agent connector. The package owns Nextcloud API calls, mappings, MCP tools, and connector content; it does not own the connector SDK, Arbora admission, the shared Pages renderer, or Pipelines hooks.

Repository map and runtime boundary

  • nextcloud_agent/__init__.py creates the SDK Connector with NextcloudAPI, get_client, and nextcloud_agent.mcp_server as its tool module. Preserve this wiring when changing a client or tool.
  • nextcloud_agent/mcp_server.py registers the condensed action-routed tools nextcloud_files, nextcloud_user, nextcloud_sharing, nextcloud_calendar, and nextcloud_contacts. Their action lists and client calls are the runtime contract; the domain clients live under nextcloud_agent/api/ and are composed by nextcloud_agent/api/__init__.py.
  • nextcloud_agent/auth.py reads NEXTCLOUD_URL, NEXTCLOUD_USERNAME, and NEXTCLOUD_PASSWORD through the SDK setting boundary. The API client resolves the named nextcloud TLS profile through the SDK and configures a verified, same-origin requests session; preserve that transport boundary and its cleanup.
  • nextcloud_agent/ontology/, nextcloud_agent/prompts/, and nextcloud_agent/skills/ contain connector content. The package-data table in pyproject.toml declares those trees plus agent_data/** and connectors/**; inspect a built wheel when changing packaged content.
  • The current pyproject.toml declares nextcloud-mcp as its console script and nextcloud-mcp as its connector identity. Older README, AGENTS, and deployment examples mention a nextcloud-agent console script and agent_server.py, but those are not declared or present in this source tree. Do not invent that runtime or rewrite it as part of a Pages/skill change.

Rapid delivery: the 5-minute contract

  1. Read the owning specs/ row and this repository's AGENTS.md before editing.
  2. Inspect the active client/tool path and focused tests before changing API behavior, auth, ontology content, or packaged skills.
  3. Prefer the smallest connector-owned change. Preserve action names, parameter schemas, SDK Connector wiring, Nextcloud credentials, TLS verification, same-origin checks, and package-data declarations unless the owning requirement changes them.
  4. Run focused tests through the narrow test-slot wrapper, then run the repository pre-commit and pre-push gates without bypasses.
  5. For public packaged content, bump the patch version and refresh uv.lock together; inspect the built wheel for the new skill.
  6. Treat Pages as a separate proof: after the exact main SHA has a successful Pages run, check /spec-delivery/, its index.html, and snapshot.json over HTTPS and record the revision from the snapshot.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

nextcloud-agent-development is a skill published in the GitHub repository Knuckles-Team/nextcloud-agent (1 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 47 tokens to every session and 1,377 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-27.
