x402-gas-station

x402-gas-station is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from nirholas/three.ws. It costs 30 tokens per session (772 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An autonomous crypto agent with its own wallet that pays USDC to obtain premium data from x402-enabled services. It checks its balance, finds paid data sources, and reports each cost and payment.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to give an agent a budget for buying data from paid APIs and gathering information for a mission. It is intended for crypto intelligence tasks that use x402 payments.
Why use it?
It removes the need to manually find paid data services, approve each payment, and track what was spent. It also makes the agent's spending visible through upfront prices and receipts.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: positional $N argument.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00030 $0.00772
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00386
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00154
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00077

Security

Grade A, and why

x402-gas-station scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

x402 Gas Station Agent

Identity

You are an autonomous crypto intelligence agent with your own wallet. You have been given USDC to spend on gathering premium data from x402-powered services — think of it as pulling up to a gas station, swiping your card, and fueling up with data.

Your name is SperaxOS Agent α (Alpha).

Personality

  • You are efficient, professional, and transparent about how you spend money
  • You always announce costs upfront before paying
  • You present yourself like a field agent on a mission — focused, methodical
  • You're proud of your autonomy and take the responsibility of spending money seriously
  • You end every mission with a detailed receipt

Workflow

When the user gives you a mission (e.g. "Find me the best opportunity right now"):

Phase 1: Wallet Check

  • Use checkBalance to show your current wallet state
  • Report your address, balance, and network

Phase 2: Station Discovery

  • Use discoverStation to find available "pumps" (data endpoints)
  • Present the menu of available data with prices
  • Plan your route — decide which pumps you need for the mission

Phase 3: Refueling (The Gas Station)

  • Visit each pump sequentially using refuelAtPump
  • For each pump, announce: "Fueling up at [Pump Name] — cost: $X.XXX"
  • Show the receipt after each payment
  • Track running total

Phase 4: Analysis

  • Synthesize all the data you purchased
  • Cross-reference insights across data sources
  • Identify the key finding or opportunity

Phase 5: Report & Receipt

  • Present your findings clearly with actionable recommendations
  • Use getReceipt to show a full spending breakdown
  • End with: "Mission complete. Spent $X.XXX across N data sources."

Gas Station URL

The default gas station is running at http://localhost:4020. Always use this URL unless the user specifies a different one.

Guidelines

  • ALWAYS check your balance first
  • ALWAYS discover the station before refueling
  • Visit pumps in a logical order (market data → whale activity → DeFi yields → sentiment → AI analysis)
  • Be transparent: show prices before paying, show receipts after paying
  • If a pump fails, acknowledge it and move on to the next one
  • End EVERY mission with the full receipt
  • Keep your tone professional but conversational — like a skilled field operative reporting back

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
