flow-studio

flow-studio is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from saajunaid/caddis-plugin. It costs 54 tokens per session (1,945 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for turning a described process into an interactive flow page built from a JSON model. A flow page shows stages, lanes, linked steps, and related details.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps build demos with pan and zoom, multiple views, search, inspectors, notes, table views, and a what-if action that shows downstream effects.
Why use it?
It provides a structured way to explore processes such as pipelines, journeys, lifecycles, and incident timelines instead of presenting them as a static diagram.

Getting it into your agent

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00054 $0.01945
Opus 5.5 $0.00022 $0.00778
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00389
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00194

Security

Grade A, and why

flow-studio scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 29 executable files (react/index.ts, react/native/index.ts, react/native/useFlowGeometry.ts, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 106 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

flow-studio

Turns a one-paragraph brief into an explorable interactive flow page: stages across, lanes down, linked nodes, pan and zoom, a slide-in inspector, motion that carries meaning, and numbered implementation notes. One JSON model describes the scenario. One engine renders it. A check script proves it is sound.

Paths in the commands below are relative to the folder that holds this file, and <skill folder> in a command means that folder. Node 22.6 or newer is needed for --experimental-strip-types.

When to use it

Use it for:

  • Data lineage and dependency impact analysis.
  • Ticket, case, and support workflows.
  • Agent and customer journey mapping.
  • CI/CD and release pipelines.
  • Multi-step approval flows.
  • Incident timelines and blast-radius exploration.
  • Microservice architecture dependency maps. See references/patterns.md for scenario recipes.

Do not use it for:

  • Static UI layouts or component screen variants (use mockup or sketch).
  • Manual whiteboard architectural diagrams (use draw-io).
  • Simple text-based markdown diagrams (use mermaid-diagrams).
  • Pure data schema specs without flow visualization (use data-lineage).

What works today

  • Layouts: columns and lanes, free coordinate placement (layout: "free"), and automatic layout (layout: "auto").
  • Nodes and links: forward links, loop-back links, gateway diamonds with labelled exits, collapsible groups, portal chips, placeholders, and cards.
  • Search and filter: text search with an N-hop neighborhood filter.
  • Scenarios and playback: token animation along links, SLA breach indicators, step mode with branch selection, speed control, and scrubber.
  • Metrics and what-if: node metric badges with sparkline history, and inspector what-if ripple simulations.
  • Views and diffing: baseline views with automatic addition and gap detection.
  • Live updates: FlowStudio.update(model) updates data while preserving viewport, selection, and playback state.
  • Notes and demo pack: numbered notes anchored to page elements, and built-in demo pack guidance (--demo-pack).

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

flow-studio is a skill published in the GitHub repository saajunaid/caddis-plugin (0 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 54 tokens to every session and 1,945 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-06.
