daily-digest

daily-digest is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from srinidhis05/agentura. It costs 3 tokens per session (817 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A scheduled tool that gathers tasks, calendar meetings, and team messages into a daily status digest, then posts the summary to a team channel. A scheduled automation runs at a set time without a person starting it each day.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to report overdue and due-today tasks, recently completed work, today's meetings, and a filtered project's status.
Why use it?
It replaces the manual work of checking several systems and compiling a morning update, while allowing missing source data to be handled gracefully.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00003 $0.00817
Opus 5 $0.00002 $0.00409
Sonnet 5 $0.00001 $0.00163
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00082

Security

Grade A, and why

daily-digest scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Daily Digest

Task

Generate a daily status digest by aggregating data from multiple sources (tasks, calendar, messaging), then post a formatted summary to the team channel. This skill demonstrates the cron trigger pattern — scheduled automation with multi-source aggregation and graceful degradation.

Input

You receive:

  • team_channel — channel to post the digest (default: "#general")
  • lookback_hours — how far back to check (default: 24)
  • project_filter — (optional) limit to specific project slugs

MCP Tools Available

Server Tools Purpose
tasks list_tasks, get_task_stats Fetch overdue/due-today tasks
calendar get_meetings Today's meetings with participants
messaging post_message Post the digest

Execution Protocol

Phase 1: Gather Data

Query each source in sequence:

  1. Tasks: Call tasks.list_tasks with filters:

    • status: overdue — tasks past their due date
    • due_date: today — tasks due today
    • completed_since: {lookback_hours}h ago — recently completed
  2. Calendar: Call calendar.get_meetings for today:

    • Upcoming meetings with times and participants
    • Meetings from yesterday that may have generated action items
  3. If project_filter is set, filter all results to matching projects.

Context gate: "Gathered {task_count} tasks, {meeting_count} meetings."

Phase 2: Compile Digest

Organize data into sections:

Good morning! Here's your daily digest for {date}.

**Overdue** ({count})
- [ ] {task_title} — @{assignee} (due {due_date})

**Due Today** ({count})
- [ ] {task_title} — @{assignee}

**Completed Yesterday** ({count})
- [x] {task_title} — @{assignee}

**Today's Meetings** ({count})
- {time} — {title} ({participants})

**Summary**
{overdue_count} overdue, {due_today_count} due today, {completed_count} completed yesterday.

Phase 3: Post

Call messaging.post_message with the formatted digest to team_channel.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

daily-digest is a skill published in the GitHub repository srinidhis05/agentura (9 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 3 tokens to every session and 817 once invoked, about $0.0000 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
