update-localization

update-localization is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from tarlepp/symfony-flex-backend. It costs 34 tokens per session (2,080 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for changing the languages, regional formats, user language preferences, and time-zone behavior supported by an application. Localization means adapting software for different languages and regions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing supported languages or locales, translation catalogs, locale selection, user preferences, or time-zone lists and rules.
Why use it?
It helps keep translated text, regional formatting, stored preferences, request handling, defaults, and fallbacks consistent.

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00034 $0.02080
Opus 5.5 $0.00014 $0.00832
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00416
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00208

Security

Grade A, and why

update-localization scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What is this?

Use this skill when changing supported languages/locales, request locale selection, translation resources, user localization preferences, or timezone lists and validation. Translation language, formatting locale, user timezone, and storage timezone are separate contracts; changing one does not implicitly change the others.

Follow the shared skill guidance, including repository instructions and AI rules. Use update-application-configuration for settings and wiring, and add-api-dto-mapping when preference inputs or request mappings change.

  • src/Enum/Language.php and Locale.php: supported values and enum defaults.
  • src/Service/Localization.php: supported lists, request-locale fallback, default user timezone, timezone formatting, caching, and failure logging.
  • src/EventSubscriber/AcceptLanguageSubscriber.php: early request locale selection using the configured %locale%.
  • config/services.yaml, config/packages/framework.yaml, and translation.yaml: default locale, translator resource path and fallback.
  • translations/, currently including security+intl-icu.fi.xlf, and src/Security/Handler/TranslatedAuthenticationFailureHandler.php: actual message keys, domains, formats, and authentication translation.
  • src/Controller/v1/Localization/ and its integration/E2E tests: language, locale, and timezone list contracts and OpenAPI metadata.
  • src/Entity/User.php, src/DTO/User/User.php, src/AutoMapper/User/RequestMapper.php, src/Security/SecurityUser.php, and src/EventSubscriber/JWTCreatedSubscriber.php: preference defaults, input conversion, persisted values, security-user snapshots, and JWT claims.
  • Language, locale, and timezone constraints under src/Validator/Constraints/, and enum types under src/Doctrine/DBAL/Types/: accepted inputs and database representation. Shared log entities use UTC independently of user timezone.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
