context-checkpoint

context-checkpoint is a skill for Claude Code from uqeu/estelle-cli. It costs 0 tokens per session (282 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A deliberate context summary made at a natural phase boundary, keeping decisions, constraints, and important file or API references while removing noise.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps continue work after a design, implementation, or testing phase and gives the next phase a compact working brief.
Why use it?
It prevents long coding sessions from losing important facts when old conversation details are discarded.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00282
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00113
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00056
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00028

Security

Grade A, and why

context-checkpoint scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

context-checkpoint

Estelle's context-discipline move. Compact on purpose at natural seams, not blindly when the window fills — so nothing load-bearing is ever lost.

Procedure

  1. Checkpoint at boundaries — trigger at phase seams (design done, feature landed, tests green), not mid-thought and not on arbitrary auto-compaction.
  2. Summarize the phase — capture what was decided and built in a few tight lines that stand on their own.
  3. Pin the essentials — carry forward the facts, decisions, constraints, and file/API references the next phase actually needs.
  4. Drop the noise — discard superseded attempts, dead ends, and verbose tool output that no longer informs anything.
  5. Verify before dropping — confirm every pinned fact is preserved before releasing the raw context, so compaction never loses signal.
  6. Continue sharp — resume the next phase on the lean summary, with headroom restored.

Output

A compact, phase-aware context that keeps every load-bearing fact and sheds the rest. Serves long sessions; pairs with baton-pass for cross-agent handoff.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
