terraform-change

terraform-change is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from woliveiras/geremmyas. It costs 40 tokens per session (430 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A plan-first workflow for changing Terraform, a tool that describes and manages infrastructure with configuration files. It checks the target environment and previews proposed changes before they are applied.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when editing Terraform, importing existing resources, or moving resource addresses. It helps inspect configuration, format and validate files, review a Terraform plan, and record apply results or rollback notes.
Why use it?
It makes the effects of infrastructure edits visible, including resource replacements, deletions, permissions, networking, data stores, and state changes. It also protects production from unreviewed mutations.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00040 $0.00430
Opus 5 $0.00020 $0.00215
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00086
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00043

Security

Grade A, and why

terraform-change scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Terraform Change

Change Terraform with a plan-first workflow and contextual environment authority.

Process

  1. Identify the workspace, backend, target environment, provider versions, and expected blast radius.
  2. Read the relevant .tf, .tfvars, module, backend, and lockfile context.
  3. Run or request terraform fmt and terraform validate before planning.
  4. For refactors, prefer moved blocks. For existing unmanaged resources, prefer import blocks or a documented import command.
  5. Produce or inspect terraform plan.
  6. Summarize creates, updates, replacements, deletes, IAM changes, networking, data stores, and state changes.
  7. Apply or mutate state autonomously only for a verified local, disposable, or test environment with rollback or recreation; then prefix the command with GEREMMYAS_TARGET=local, test, or disposable. Production requires explicit user authorization for every mutation; an ambiguous target is protected.
  8. After apply, capture outputs, follow-up verification, and any rollback notes.

Rules

  • Never run terraform destroy; use a scoped, recoverable alternative. Do not mutate production without explicit user authorization.
  • Do not put secrets in .tf, .tfvars, outputs, plan files, or committed state.
  • Treat plan files as sensitive because they can contain secret values.
  • Prefer small, reviewable infrastructure changes over broad refactors.
  • If the backend or workspace is unclear, inspect configuration and continue read-only; do not mutate until the environment is proven non-production.

Output

  • Environment and backend summary
  • Commands run or proposed
  • Plan summary with risk areas
  • Authority evidence for local, disposable, or test mutation; authorization for production
  • Post-apply verification or rollback notes
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
