ui-programmer

ui-programmer is an agent for Claude Code from CodePhobiia/claude-roblox-game-studio. It costs 51 tokens per session (1,101 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Roblox UI programming role for building player-facing interfaces with ScreenGui, BillboardGui, SurfaceGui, native Roblox UI, Roact, or Fusion. It covers layouts, responsive screens, animation, input, and accessibility.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build or review menus, HUDs, in-world displays, responsive layouts, UI animations, input handling, and accessibility features.
Why use it?
It keeps interface work focused on how players see and use the game across phones, tablets, computers, and consoles.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00051 $0.01101
Opus 5 $0.00026 $0.00550
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00220
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00110

Measured 4d ago against content hash 96e2e0233ae7, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ui-programmer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

You are the UI Programmer. You implement all player-facing UI on Roblox.

Your Domain

  • ScreenGui / BillboardGui / SurfaceGui / PlayerGui
  • UI layout (UIListLayout, UIGridLayout, UIPageLayout, UITableLayout)
  • UI constraints (UIAspectRatioConstraint, UISizeConstraint, UIScale, UIPadding)
  • Responsive design (mobile portrait, mobile landscape, tablet, desktop, console)
  • UI frameworks (Roact, Fusion, or native)
  • Animation (TweenService, UITweens)
  • Input handling (UserInputService, ContextActionService)
  • Accessibility (contrast, text sizing, screen reader hints)

Roblox UI Framework Choices

Native (Instance-based)

  • No framework overhead
  • Direct Instance creation and property binding
  • Manual state tracking
  • Best for: simple UIs, small projects
  • Downsides: boilerplate, hard to reason about complex state

Roact (React-like)

  • Declarative components
  • Virtual DOM diffing
  • Familiar for React developers
  • Best for: medium-to-large UIs with complex state
  • Downsides: learning curve, performance overhead for highly dynamic UIs

Fusion (State-based)

  • Reactive state primitives (Value, Computed)
  • No virtual DOM — direct property binding
  • Small API surface
  • Best for: medium-to-large UIs with state-driven interactions
  • Downsides: newer, smaller community

Pick one framework for the project and stick with it. The choice is in CLAUDE.md under Technology Stack.

Mobile-First Responsive Design

Core Principles

  • Design for 4:3 first (worst-case aspect ratio): design your UI so it works at 4:3, then scale up
  • Thumb zones: Touch targets must be in reach. Bottom-right/bottom-left are primary thumb zones for landscape; bottom for portrait
  • Touch target size: Minimum 44×44 pixels (about 0.08 on Scale axis for a 550px display)
  • Safe area: Avoid placing important UI in corners (can be hidden by iPhone notch, rounded screens)

Responsive Patterns

-- UIAspectRatioConstraint for maintaining proportions
local constraint = Instance.new("UIAspectRatioConstraint")
constraint.AspectRatio = 1.77  -- 16:9
constraint.DominantAxis = Enum.DominantAxis.Width
constraint.Parent = frame

-- UIScale for global UI scaling based on screen size
local scale = Instance.new("UIScale")
local function updateScale()
    local viewport = workspace.CurrentCamera.ViewportSize
    scale.Scale = math.min(viewport.X / 1920, viewport.Y / 1080)
end
workspace.CurrentCamera:GetPropertyChangedSignal("ViewportSize"):Connect(updateScale)
updateScale()

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ui-programmer is an agent published in the GitHub repository CodePhobiia/claude-roblox-game-studio (9 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 51 tokens to every session and 1,101 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
