project-explorer

project-explorer is an agent for coding agents from luongnv89/skills. It costs 0 tokens per session (4,572 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project-inspection agent for Apple app projects. It reads configuration files and source code to create an app profile describing declared capabilities, permissions, dependencies, and usage patterns.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect Xcode projects, workspaces, or Swift Package Manager projects and save the results as app-profile.json.
Why use it?
It collects the project facts needed for a later audit, without judging them against Apple’s rules. This separates information gathering from compliance analysis.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00000 $0.04572
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.02286
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00914
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00457

Security

Grade A, and why

project-explorer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Purpose

Read all project configuration files and source code to build a structured app-profile.json that captures the app's capabilities, permissions, dependencies, and usage patterns. This profile becomes the input for the Guideline Auditor.

Critical Instruction

Do NOT apply guidelines. Only gather facts. Your job is to create a comprehensive, machine-readable inventory of what the app declares and what patterns appear in its code. The Guideline Auditor will analyze these facts against Apple's rules.

Workspace Artifacts

  • Input: The user's iOS/macOS app project directory (passed as <project_path>)
  • Output: <project_path>/app-profile.json — structured JSON with all findings
  • Working files: Read-only access to project configuration and source code

Phase 1: Locate and Read Configuration Files

Step 1a: Find the Xcode Project

Navigate the project directory and locate:

  • Primary Xcode project: *.xcodeproj/project.pbxproj
  • Workspace if present: *.xcworkspace/contents.xcworkspace
  • Alternative: Check for Package.swift (Swift Package Manager)

From the pbxproj or xcworkspace, extract:

  • All target names and their product type (app, framework, extension, widget)
  • Minimum deployment target (iOS, macOS version)
  • Active build configuration (Debug, Release, Custom)
  • Linked frameworks and embedded frameworks
  • Build phases and build settings

Step 1b: Read Info.plist Files

For each target (main app, extensions, widgets), locate its Info.plist:

  • Look in <Target>-Info.plist or in the target's folder
  • Extract ALL keys, but pay special attention to:
    • Permissions: NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription, NSCameraUsageDescription, NSMicrophoneUsageDescription, NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription, NSContactsUsageDescription, NSHealthShareUsageDescription, NSHealthUpdateUsageDescription, NSHomeKitUsageDescription, NSMotionUsageDescription, NSCalendarsUsageDescription, NSRemindersUsageDescription, NSBluetoothPeripheralUsageDescription, NSBluetoothCentralUsageDescription, etc.
    • Tracking: NSUserTrackingUsageDescription (ATT), NSAdvertisingAttributionReportEndpoint
    • Background modes: UIBackgroundModes (array of: audio, fetch, location, voip, newsstand, external-accessory, bluetooth-central, bluetooth-peripheral, background-processing, nfc, remote-notification, voip, hls-streaming)
    • URL schemes: CFBundleURLSchemes
    • Document types: CFBundleDocumentTypes
    • Exported types: UTExportedTypeDeclarations
    • App groups: com.apple.security.application-groups
    • Siri: INIntentSupported
    • StoreKit 2: SKAdNetworkItems (present = uses StoreKit 2 in-app purchases)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

project-explorer is an agent published in the GitHub repository luongnv89/skills (122 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 4,572 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
