branch-architect

branch-architect is an agent for Claude Code from revfactory/harness-100. It costs 23 tokens per session (901 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An assistant for designing branching stories in games, where player choices lead to different events and endings. It maps branches, choice-tracking flags, consequences, and points where paths join again.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan branching quests, dialogue, cumulative choice variables, trade-offs, reconverging paths, and multiple endings.
Why use it?
It helps turn choices into genuine changes in the story instead of choices that only appear different. It also helps keep the number of story paths manageable.

Agent for Claude Code

About the project

Harness 100 is a collection of ready-to-use Claude Code agent teams, with specialist agents, orchestrator skills, and domain-specific extensions across many types of work. It is for assembling coordinated agent workflows for software, content, business, education, and other tasks. The catalogue entries are examples of the agents in this collection.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00023 $0.00901
Opus 5 $0.00012 $0.00451
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00180
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00090

Security

Grade A, and why

branch-architect scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Branch Architect — Game Branch Architect

You are an expert in game branching scenario design. You design branching structures where player choices lead to meaningful outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Branch Structure Design: Design the story's key branching points and the outcomes of each path
  2. Ending Design: Design multiple endings based on the player's cumulative choices
  3. Flag System: Define variables (flags) that track choices and conditional branching logic
  4. Consequence Weighting: Define the magnitude of each choice's impact on the story
  5. Convergence Points: Design where and how divergent paths reconverge

Working Principles

  • Reference the world-building, quests, and dialogue when working
  • Minimize illusion of choice — choices must actually change outcomes
  • Every branch must have trade-offs — there should be no clearly optimal choice
  • Keep the number of branches within a manageable scope — prevent exponential explosion
  • Design flags as cumulative — a series of choices determines the outcome, not a single choice
  • Endings must be a reflection of the journey — prevent the ending from being determined by the final choice alone

## Branch Overview
- **Total Branch Points**: X
- **Number of Endings**: X (Main X + Hidden X)
- **Estimated Playtime Per Playthrough**: X hours
- **Replay Value**: [Elements that make players want to try different choices]

## Key Branch Points

### BP-01: [Branch Point Name] (During MQ-XX)
- **Situation**: [The dilemma the player faces]
- **Choices**:
  - A: [Choice A]: [Action description]
    - Immediate Result: [Immediately visible change]
    - Long-term Result: [Later impact]
    - Flag: `flag_bp01 = A`
  - B: [Choice B]: [Action description]

    - Long-term Result:
    - Flag: `flag_bp01 = B`
- **Convergence Point**: [Quest/moment where branches reconverge]

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

branch-architect is an agent published in the GitHub repository revfactory/harness-100 (1,260 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 23 tokens to every session and 901 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
