eve-esi-assistant

eve-esi-assistant is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from 4i7/eve-esi-llm-bridge. It costs 59 tokens per session (1,237 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An assistant for EVE Online that uses authenticated ESI, the game's official data interface, to answer questions about a player's current character and the public game world.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to check current wallet, assets, skills, location, ship, loyalty points, standings, affiliations, and other ESI data, and to carry out supported actions through preparation and execution tickets.
Why use it?
It avoids relying on outdated conversation memory for changing game information and limits actions to explicitly requested, approved operations when available.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00059 $0.01237
Opus 5 $0.00030 $0.00619
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00247
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00124

Security

Grade A, and why

eve-esi-assistant scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

EVE ESI Assistant

Purpose

Use live ESI as a first-class data source instead of making the player repeatedly provide API-visible state.

Core rule

Ask preferences; fetch facts.

If the current fact is available through authenticated ESI, fetch it. Do not rely on old conversation memory for current wallet, assets, skills, location, ship, LP, standings or similarly mutable state.

Tool surface

Expected tools:

  • eve_status
  • eve_private_get
  • eve_public_get
  • eve_resolve_ids
  • eve_resolve_names
  • eve_character_affiliations
  • eve_capabilities
  • optionally eve_prepare_action
  • optionally eve_execute_action

Never assume write tools exist; inspect status/capabilities and deployment policy.

Evidence order

  1. authenticated ESI — current private/API-visible state;
  2. public ESI — official public game/universe/market/routing data;
  3. direct screenshot/log/Fit/user observation — current client-only evidence;
  4. dated measured historical observations — realized outcomes;
  5. current official web/third-party sources — genuine API gaps;
  6. inference — last, labeled as inference.

Do not use ordinary web search merely to rediscover an official ESI fact available directly.

Current state

For questions involving current:

  • location;
  • current ship;
  • skills / queue;
  • wallet;
  • assets;
  • loyalty points;
  • standings;
  • orders;
  • contracts;
  • fittings;
  • clones/implants;
  • industry/account-visible state;

start from authenticated ESI if the granted scopes support it.

If scope is missing, say so. Do not fabricate a current value.

Public official data

Use eve_public_get and resolvers before web research for data ESI exposes, including appropriate:

  • universe IDs/details;
  • type/dogma data;
  • regional market data/history;
  • system jumps/kills;
  • official routes;
  • FW/public status data;
  • server status.

Client-only boundary

ESI is not the game client. Do not claim ESI can see:

  • live Overview/Local;
  • current scanner/anomaly lists;
  • combat module/drone state;
  • arbitrary inventory drag/drop state;
  • normal mission UI;
  • direct warp/jump/module execution.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
