UnitySkills is a REST API-based automation engine that lets AI coding agents control Unity Editor projects, including scenes and other editor operations. It is for developers using Unity with supported coding agents and IDEs. The catalogue skills and commands provide the agent workflows used to operate Unity projects through the engine.
Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

SkillSpector: 2 findings, up to high
These are SkillSpector’s own severities. On a checked sample its high-severity flags on skills were ~96% false positives — a documented command, a public API, a “never do X” rule — so we show them as a caution to read, not a verdict. Why →
- high Rogue Agent · line 25 Skill modifies its own code, configuration, or behavior at runtime. Self-modification enables an agent to escalate privileges, disable safety constraints, or install persistent backdoors.Fix: Prevent the skill from modifying its own code, SKILL.md, or configuration files. Treat skill files as read-only at runtime.
- medium Excessive Agency · line 22 Skill enables autonomous high-impact decisions without human-in-the-loop verification. Critical operations (destructive commands, financial transactions, data deletion) should require explicit user confirmation.Fix: Add human-in-the-loop confirmation for destructive, irreversible, or high-impact operations. Never auto-execute commands that modify files, send data, or alter system state.
What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00012 | $0.00802 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00006 | $0.00401 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00002 | $0.00160 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00001 | $0.00080 |
Grade A, and why
unity-sample scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 75 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Before calling any skill in this module: if you are about to call a skill with parameters guessed from its name or description, STOP — read this file (or fetch its schema via
GET /skills/recommend?includeSchema=true) first. If you already have the parameter definitions from recommend/schema, you may proceed straight to dryRun.

Guardrails
Operating Mode (v1.9 three-tier):
- Approval (default): query skills (
get_scene_info,find_objects_by_name) run directly. Creators/mutators (create_cube,create_sphere,set_object_position,set_object_rotation,set_object_scale) are FullAuto — onMODE_RESTRICTED, run the grant protocol. - Auto / Bypass: SemiAuto and FullAuto run directly.
- Auto-forbidden in this module:
delete_object(SkillOperation.Delete). It is reachable only under Bypass or via a user-managed Allowlist entry; the grant flow returnsMODE_FORBIDDEN.
Surface profile: this module's write skills count as GameObject authoring under another name, so both the guide and noSceneAuthoring profiles hide them and answer SURFACE_EXCLUDED — the exclusion cannot be bypassed by mode or Allowlist. Under guide, details.manualDoc points at manual-gameobject, which teaches these same primitive/transform steps by hand. The query skills stay available in every profile.
SURFACE_EXCLUDED has a second source beyond a hidden skill name: visible shell skills that replay a payload — batch_execute / batch_retry_failed (batch module) and the workflow undo/redo/revert skills (workflow module) — return the same code at execution time when the payload they are about to apply lands in a category the active profile withdraws, even though those shell skills are never themselves hidden.
DO NOT (common hallucinations):
- Sample skills are basic test/demo skills — do not use them for production work
sample_createis a simplified version ofgameobject_create— prefer the full gameobject modulesample_hello/sample_pingare connectivity test skills only
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
- 6d ago First seen · 75 lines · 12 tokens per session scan A 384889a26982
unity-sample is a skill published in the GitHub repository Besty0728/Unity-Skills (1,727 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 12 tokens to every session and 802 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
