A research tracker that keeps a roster of notable marketing teams and records the tactics they use in a reusable swipe file.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to monitor selected marketing teams, classify their recent plays, and collect examples for ideation, social content, or strategy work.
Why use it?
It prevents useful examples from being lost after a one-time scan. It also organizes observed marketing ideas so they can inform future content and campaigns.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00006 $0.02761
Opus 5 $0.00003 $0.01380
Sonnet 5 $0.00001 $0.00552
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00276

Security

Grade A, and why

marketing-team-tracker scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 185 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Marketing team tracker

Keep a living roster of the marketing teams worth stealing from, and harvest their best plays on demand. Each play is classified against five repeatable patterns, given a one-line "steal this", and filed in an append-only swipe file your content, ideation, and social skills can pull from. Knowledge type: temporal-signal-brief (per .claude/rules/ontology.md); maturity: emergent — each scan is fresh and time-bound, briefs are not locked.

Seeded from Tom Orbach's "Marketing Ideas" roundup (the 9 teams he follows + the five patterns they share), cite-only — same precedent as .claude/rules/linkedin-cold-dm-doctrine.md. The roster + swipe file are ours; the seed is attributed in the premium reference.

Cousin to /signal-scan — that skill answers "what happened with one topic in N days." This one carries a standing roster of marketing teams, classifies what it finds against a marketing-play taxonomy, and accumulates a swipe file across runs. Distinct from /marketing-ideas (ideation from a brief — the tracker feeds it raw plays) and /competitor-research (a deep static dossier on a threat, not an inspiration source).

When to run

Invoke for: track marketing teams, marketing inspiration scan, marketing swipe file, what's {company} doing in marketing, GTME Pulse sourcing, pre-content-calendar inspiration, add {company} to the tracker.

Do NOT invoke for:

  • A deep competitor threat dossier → /competitor-research (static, 13-dimension, adversarial).
  • Per-account buying signals / timing triggers → /niche-signal (outbound, "when to reach out").
  • Ideation from a brief → /marketing-ideas (this skill feeds it real plays to riff on).
  • One topic's last-N-days news → /signal-scan (topic-agnostic, no standing roster).

Brain-first (mandatory): before any external call, run the .claude/rules/brain-first-lookup.md ladder — /recall {team} + grep the swipe file. A play you logged last cycle may already answer the question. Annotate the brief if you went external after a miss.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
