blender-animation-rigging

blender-animation-rigging is a skill for Claude Code from ra100/blender-claude-plugin. It costs 75 tokens per session (3,542 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to animating and building character rigs in Blender 5.x. A rig is the controllable bone and constraint structure that makes a model move.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for keyframes, armatures, inverse kinematics, drivers, constraints, shape keys, animation clips, and bone collections.
Why use it?
It provides patterns for organizing keyframes, bones, constraints, and animation clips so complex movement can be created or automated with Python.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00075 $0.03542
Opus 5 $0.00037 $0.01771
Sonnet 5 $0.00015 $0.00708
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00354

Security

Grade A, and why

blender-animation-rigging scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Blender Animation & Rigging Expert

Overview

This skill provides expert guidance for Blender 5.x animation and rigging: keyframing, FCurve editing, drivers, bone constraints, armature creation, IK/FK chains, shape keys, NLA strips, and Python automation of animation workflows. Includes 5.1 changes (Smooth Gaussian FCurve modifier, Apply to Basis, layered action performance). The reference files contain the complete constraint catalog and Python API patterns.

MCP-First Approach

Prefer the official Blender MCP Server (Blender Lab, Blender 5.1+) for inserting keyframes, creating armatures, wiring constraints, baking actions directly in a running Blender session. Fall back to emitting Python scripts only when the MCP server is not connected.

Detection: at session start, look for tools whose names match execute_blender_code, get_objects_summary, or search_api_docs — these belong to the official blender-mcp server. If any are present, MCP is available.

Tools used by this skill:

  • execute_blender_code — run bpy Python in the live session (primary action)
  • get_objects_summary, get_object_detail_summary — inspect scene state before mutating
  • get_blendfile_summary_datablocks / _missing_files / _of_linked_libraries / _path_info / _usage_guess — inventory the file
  • search_api_docs, get_python_api_docs, search_manual_docs — confirm correct API/operator names before calling them
  • get_screenshot_of_window_as_image / _as_json, get_screenshot_of_area_as_image — verify visual results
  • jump_to_tab_by_name, jump_to_tab_by_space_type, jump_to_view3d_object_by_name, jump_to_view3d_object_data_by_name — drive the UI to make changes visible
  • render_thumbnail_to_path, render_viewport_to_path — capture quick visual feedback

Workflow: inspect with a get_* / search_* tool → mutate via execute_blender_code → verify with a screenshot or summary tool. Keep code blocks small and idempotent so failures are easy to localize.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
