meta-setup-and-tracking

meta-setup-and-tracking is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from swan-gtm/gtm-skills. It costs 36 tokens per session (2,348 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A setup checklist for measuring Meta ad activity on a website. It covers the Meta Pixel, which records website actions for Meta, along with events, domain verification, data sources, and lead forms.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps create and install a Meta Pixel, configure events and domains, set up lead-generation forms, and prepare the basic measurement system for B2B campaigns.
Why use it?
Without correctly configured tracking, Meta cannot reliably connect ads with website actions or leads. The checklist provides the implementation steps needed before launching campaigns.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00036 $0.02348
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.01174
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00470
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00235

Security

Grade A, and why

meta-setup-and-tracking scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Meta Ads Setup & Tracking - Implementation Guide

Step-by-step setup to run your first B2B campaign on Meta. Use this when you already have access and need to configure tracking, then launch. For campaign strategy (audience hierarchy, ABO vs CBO, creative), see the other knowledge-base files.

Where Things Live in Meta

What you need Where to go
Pixel, events, data sources Events Manager (Ads Manager → left menu → All Tools → Events Manager)
Create and run campaigns Ads Manager (campaigns, ad sets, ads)
Domain verification, Business assets Business Settings (Business Suite or business.facebook.com → Settings)
Lead Gen Forms Created when you build an ad with the Leads objective; form settings live in the ad set/ad flow

1. Create and Install the Meta Pixel

1.1 Create the pixel (if you don't have one)

  1. Events Manager → Data Sources → Add new data sourceWebsiteConnect.
  2. Choose Meta Pixel → name it (e.g. "[Business] - Main Website") → Create Pixel.
  3. Note your Pixel ID (shown in the pixel details). You'll use it in the base code or in tag managers.

1.2 Install the pixel on the website

You need the base pixel code on every page (or at least all pages you care about for traffic and conversions). Options:

Option A: Manual install

  • Events Manager → your Pixel → Set up (or Continue set up) → Install code manually.
  • Copy the base code snippet (the fbq('init', 'XXXX') and fbq('track', 'PageView') block).
  • Add it to the <head> of every page, or to a global header/footer template. Do not add it only to the thank-you page.

Option B: Google Tag Manager (recommended if you use GTM)

  • Events Manager → Set upUse a partner → choose Google Tag Manager and follow the steps.
  • In GTM: create a Custom HTML tag with the base pixel code, set it to fire on All Pages (or appropriate triggers). Publish the container.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
