.claude/skills/skyrim-bsa/SKILL.md

skyrim-bsa is a skill for Claude Code from WingedGuardian/skyrimvr-claude-toolkit. It costs 24 tokens per session (401 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for reading and editing BSA and BA2 archives, packaged collections of files used by games such as Skyrim. It works through the AutoMod command-line tool.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to list archive contents, check archive integrity, compare two archives, extract files, create archives, and add, remove, or replace files.
Why use it?
It helps inspect, compare, validate, unpack, and update game archives without handling each contained file manually.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00024 $0.00401
Opus 5 $0.00012 $0.00200
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00080
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00040

Measured 11d ago against content hash 75c059b6abf4, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

skyrim-bsa scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

BSA/BA2 Archive Operations

Use the AutoMod CLI for archive work. Always use --json for output.

bash tools/automod-cli.sh archive <command> [args] --json

Read-Only Commands

  • archive info <archive> — metadata and stats
  • archive list <archive> [--filter <pattern>] [--limit <n>] — list contents
  • archive validate <archive> — integrity check
  • archive diff <archive1> <archive2> — compare two archives
  • archive status — verify BSArch tool availability

Write Commands (always confirm with user first)

  • archive extract <archive> --output <dir> — extract all files
  • archive extract-file <archive> <file> --output <dir> — extract single file
  • archive create <dir> --output <archive> [--game Skyrim] — create new BSA
  • archive add-files <archive> <dir> [--base-dir <path>] — add files to existing archive
  • archive remove-files <archive> --filter <pattern> — remove files by pattern
  • archive update-file <archive> <file-path> <archive-path> — replace single file
  • archive replace-files <archive> <source-dir> — bulk replace
  • archive merge <archive1> <archive2> [...] --output <path> — merge archives
  • archive optimize <archive> [--output <path>] — optimize compression

Key Reminder

Loose files always override BSAs. Check for loose file conflicts in Data/ before assuming BSA content is what the game loads.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
